Amayiaza rolled her eys and turned to look at her personal maid, Nia. She was the only person the young Aisha trusted. "Hmp, she wouldn't have a chance to say anything at all, for she would have fainted dead cold."* The old lupesess raised her eyebrow, "And what sort of faint would this be?" *"Perferrably not one her fake ones, anyways, what brings you Nia? Your early for supper.* *" Ahh, well, we have a vistior to the castle. I was ordered to try to get you in one of your finest dresses." Nia turned, leading out to the hallway, and Amayiaza sighed and trudged along, "And the lady pleds for you to at least bring your staff.* *"Who in great heaven is it this time? How many visitors have we dined with in the last month?" She looked at her gloved hands and traced her minds of previous suppers, "Ahh, to many. That last man was vile! Not to mention his crossed eyes. I don't know why I even bother coming to half of these dinnings, if this dosn't stop, I'll start skipping them like I did before when Father sought out trading with new kingdoms.*

An hour later, Amayiaza walked out of her room, bound tword the dining hall with her hair pinned tightly to her head. As she set off down the long hallway, Nia raced after her holding up her long staff.
*" I knew you'd forget this! Take it!" She shoved the staff into the Aisha's hands and turned around.
Muttering, Amayiaza gripped the staff. She hated doing everything so proper. She had always been stubborn as a child, resisting her parents' whishes. When she could, she would run outside and play with the maids' children. That was, untill she was caught, and had been forbidden to play with the friendly children again. No, no, no! She though savagly as she pounded down the hallway. Amayiaza had been able to sneak down to the maid quartars again, but no one wanted to play. With their parents jobs at risks after being threatened, they were scared to risk being found playing with the princess.
All the nobel children only wanted to sew and do proper things. No fun. The Aisha rounded a coner and gripped her staff tighter and scowled.
She had eventually put up with the pointless lessons, and carried the stupid staff around. The staff which that ment she was going to be ruler. The staff that which, as time goes by, would have jewels and ornaments added as she porgressed into a young lady. Progressed into a queen.

Amayiaza entered the dining room and took her seat next to her father who was busily chatting to the Queen. Placing the staff in it's golden holding place behind her chair, the Aisha's eyes wander along the table, past all the normal nobels that lived in the castle. Then her eyes landed on a young blond nobel which many of the younger woman seemed to be enchanted with. She didn't reconize him, as he gave her a warm smile she looked away. Sitting down, she sighed in her own unpleasent thoughts, as a roar of thunder sounded outside. *"Oh my," She herd mother say and a conversation about the weather picked up. *"The pleasure to great you, young miss," Amayiaza jumped and looked next to her, for the noble had moved into the seat to her right, "My name is Prince Lasreeuo, I am from the Kingdom of Zamear."* The Aisha looked at this Lasreeuo, thinking he sounded slow and dim-whitted. Though, she thought, he was from a vast kingdom and his parents were quite wealthy, his parents could most likely afford him the highest education. *"My name is Amayiaza, and I'm, well, you should know what kindom I'm from by now."* She said a bit curtly. *"Curin, if I'm not mistaken."* He replied, grinning happily. She sighed, this was going to be a long supper. It was. Amayiaza had forced her self to be friendly to the prince, as she kept feeling her father's eyes upon her. She din't want to mess anything up with another kingdom, that was that last thing she wanted to deal with. After the final dish was served, the Aisha though she could stand this empty-minded man any londer, he father turned to her. *"My dear daughter, how do you like young Lasreeuo, you seam to be getting along quite well?" He said sweetly smiling at the prince who grinned stupidly back.

*"Uh," She hesitated, "He is a very kind person."* She wanted to pound her head on the table, how could he not see threw Lasreeuo's looks? Couldn't he see the empty-minded person inside?
*" Well then, we have finsihed our courting, we have our man!" The king roared, and stood up, "For my daughter, is betrothed to young Lasreeuo of Zamear!
Most clapped, some young wemon looked completely jealous, Amayiaza dropped her fork and it landed with a clatter on her plate.
Then Lasreeuo stood up looking completely giddy, and started talking. But she wasn't listening. So it had been courting? A simple dinner finsihes it all? How could he? I barely even know him! She was roaring inside. That was it.
*"How could you?" She screamed at her father and she saw her mother do one of her fake faints, "I don't like him! I don't even know him! He has as much brain as a ant!
The room seamed to freeze. She jumped out of her chair, without thinking, grabbed the golden staff and ran.
She tore down the hallway, heaving up her skirts, past surprised maids and turned away from the main entrance were the guards were. My window will have to do, she thought as she raced to her room. Amayiaza ripped off her torn dress and dug around in her closet for some decent clothing and supplies. She ripped of a bottom a black skirt and threw on an old brown shirt, changing her gloves. She ran across the room to her grand window over looking the lawns, and threw her staff out it, thinking it could land a heavy blow to anyone who crossed her path.
Jumping out onto the outside ledge, she climbed down the wall, as she had done so many time before when she was young. It was pooring, the skys were a dark grey, and she landed in a large mud puddle, dirting her legs and tail. She picked up the stupid staff, and ran across the lawns, leaping over bushes as thunder roared in her ears. Amayiaza, was soaking by the time she entered the woods, and kept running.
She couldn't take it anymore. Now they wre choosing for who she would love? What kind of life was that? She had always envied Nia, who had a choice in things.
She teared past the land and trees untill she could no longer breath, and she collapsed on the roots agaisnt an acient tree and slowly looked up at the sky threw the maple leaves.
A bright streak of light filled up the clouds, and then there was an ear splitting crack as it meat the tree's branches. The world closed in around Amayiaza, and she passed out.

Amayiaza's Family

Icecreasts

Born into a family, judged by her looks, loved for her pelt, and outcasted by her wings -- Icecreasts never
really learned what it was like to love. Ice's parents had kept her only for her magnificant pelt and flying
abilites, untill one day she fell of their island cloud and pelted twords the churning sea...
As she gasped for breath she felt her body change, mutating into a foarm unknown to her...
a creature of the sea.
Ice will become very close to Iaz, as they band together with the two other elmental neopains and save the
world in the clouds that simply dissapeared...

Floresta

Floresta is the other pet I'm actually appling for.
He is the element earth, and guardian of the first forest - the first forest of magic. Growing up was not
easy for him, born into a poor family and being an outcast made him all the more shy.
But once he gets lost in the forst of Toroee forest, he finds strength were he never knew he had.

Sioa

Sioa, the last elemental...
Elemental of fire... Narrowly, Sioa, a young Maraquan Uni, escaped
the disaster that ruined Maraqua. In a fright, she left her home and fled into the waters of eternal
darkness. Though, somehow she finds she can light her way, with the fire of the sea.
Lonely, and scared, Sioa
retunes to the daylight waters...and ventures out onto land, only to smack into Floresta on the beach.

Flaries The oldest, but not the wisest of the family but certianly the friendliest. A very outgoing spirited Kougra that also has a deep side. He is often found staring upon the stars to search for answers that only they hold...

Moonfire Moonfire, also known as keeper of the turth. She will never have a petpage, though what she tells anyone who seaks the truth can be valuable. Calm and wise, she will show any young neopian who crosses into her moonsoaked land where the truth in yourself lies.

Anreana Anreana, desperate to be painted Royal, thinks of only herself and not of those around her...with shopping on her mind and glamor in her eyes she is not easy to deal with. She often hangs out with Flaries, who is the only one who seams to listen to her. But if he really dose, well thats for him to say.

Vianna Upon the grassy plains of Africa, you can find a silent being over looking the animals grazing and searching for any sign of pain. For Vianna is Healer of the Winds, who's power is of air and she rides the winds in their mighty silence. Unlike all my other characters, Vianna dose not have an acutall neopet representing her. Not yet anyways.

Sayia the White Gruslen Sayia came from a distant land, of snow and ice, where her pelt almost melted into the surrounding flakes as they danced in the air. Sayia lived in the castle with Amayiaza, and when the young Aisha made her hasty leave, the Gruslen was quick to fallow. Sayia is rather large, almost the size of a full white tiger - which she resembels. But still, as Iaz was confused and wandered in the forest outside of the castle grounds, Sayia was there, walking along side, a keen eye out for danger. Like Iaz, Sayia is strong, and willing to fight along her owner's side. Fierce, yet she always is ready for an attack, but she can also be a dear friend. Hard to befriend, yet when you do, you will never forget her.

Personailty

Amayiaza is stubborn and dislikes properness and royality. She envies all the maids for their freedom and whishes she was a towns person often and could get dirty without being stared at. Iaz, is still stubborn, but learns to accept who she is. She is willing to explore and learn new things that interest her, such as the wilderness and the other two elementals that she must find. Iaz is tough when it comes to fighting, and will give a blow with her staff to anyone who tries to hurt her.

The Design

Iaz's design really isn't that complex, there are just a few different way to draw her. The first reference, is what she looks like after she ran away from her family and castel. I usually draw Iaz looking like this. The second reference, is what Amayiaza appears when she still lived in the castel. She shortened her name after she ran away.
