Questions, answers, explanations and tips pertaining to the BattleDome: |
Q: Do I have to accept challenges from pets a lot stronger than mine? There's someone who won't leave me alone. A: Depends on who it is. Personally, I only fight similar stat battles. I will not fight a pet with stats at 100 with my newb pet. I like to keep things fair. Second, I will not fight someone more than a few times. Whether you're equal, they're better or you're better, the point is that you've fought them. You shouldn't have to be in an endless loop. The BD wouldn't be fun that way. |
Q: I want to be a [good fighter]. Which items would you suggest? A: A freezing weapon (HH, freezing potion), a healing weapon (scorchstone, ECA), a bombing weapon (honey potion, battle potato), 2 constant attack weapons (battle ducks, HT weaps) and a blocking weapon (Downsize!, t-tear). Obviously that stuff can cost quite a bit. But those are quite common among [good battlers]. |
Q: Mind if I ask you something? You said you kept on backing out [with the meerca brothers] in hopes of a double freeze. I am confused, I thought you could only freeze one time per battle or are you talking about you both freeze each other in the same move? A: In all battles, there is a chance for a multiple freeze. If you have, oh say, a hypno helmet, snowglobe staff, fiery gaze and diamond dust (last 2 are abilities) you can freeze 4 times! Sweet, huh? I tried freezing him twice in a row (hh, gaze). It never worked for me. If I didn't freeze him twice, I would withdraw from that 1-player battle and try again. (I NEVER withdraw from 2 player though). The thing that worked for me was a change in strategy, and just BARELY did it work :P |
Q: How do you calculate the percent of your pet score? A: It's the number 100 divided by your total battles fought, multiplied by the wins. So if you fought 200 battles and won 175 of them, here is what the calculation would look like: 100 / 200 x 175 = 87.5 and that is 87.5% |
Q: If you fight in battledome and win will you gain experience and then eventually gain levels? A: No, but if you try defenders of neopia or fight during a war you will get prizes. Normal battledoming is mostly for fun. But, if it is your petpet then yes, as they have their own little battledome and can gain levels as they win and possibly help your pet. |
Q: What are Codestones and Dubloons? A: Codestones and dubloons are like money to the BD Training facilities that are located on Mystery Island or Krawk Island. You will need these to train your pet into getting stronger, faster, and more defensive. You will have to decide which one is right for you when you get to the point of training your pet. |
|
Q: How do I get the pant devil? A: It is a completely RANDOM EVENT. You must travel around neopia until he finds you and steals something. You can not get him from the wheel of excitement or any other way. |

1) Buy weapons. You won't win without them. 2) Snowballs are good (sticky, icy, exploding) They do a decent amount of damage and other beginners may not expect them. 3) Don't let your power go below 1%. Why- you won't be able to use abilities OR actions afterwards. (Even if you choose defend, you can not defend.) 4) Leaf shield can defend more than you think...

|
1) Learning when to attack and when to defend is important. Don't let your guard down. Ever. Experiment, learn from others, ask about the other persons strategy if you lose, even. 2) Scout out your opponent. Look up the pet you are fighting. If they have a good bd record, unbuyables in their trades, a pricey gallery, etc., you probably have a tough fighter.

|
1) If you own one, always click on your ECA first. If you click it second, it won't work. 2) A 100% freeze weapon is probably your most important item to own. If you don't have one, save for one... and use fiery gaze/snowball staff until you get it. 3) Downleveling your pet can give you a huge advantage in the dome. You could have burrow or fiery gaze on a low level pet. 4) Don't be fooled if the person has a funny lookup, acts like a newb/n00b, or has nothing good in their trades or shop- sometimes its someone very smart and VERY rich- main point: be open-minded to all possiblities.
