News Diary

So, part one of CoKIII has come out at last. I have mixed feelings about this finally being published – happy that it is at last out, and a little frustrated still that it took so long to do so. CoK came out in issue 178, and its sequel came out in 193. Over a hundred issues and two years ago. *sigh* Sorry it took so long – hopefully it lives up to your expectations!

GREAT NEWS!!!
Congratulations! Your entry (The Chronicles of Knight III: End of Nightmare) has been selected to appear in a future issue of the Neopian Times. A shiny trophy has been added to your user lookup. Thank you for contributing to the Neopian Times!
THIS MEANS IT WILL BE PUBLISHED!!
Probably starting this Friday. :)

GREAT NEWS!!!
Thank you for submitting to the Neopian Times. Currently your submission is being held over and may be considered for future publication in the Neopian Times. There is no need to submit your submission again, as it is saved by the editor.
This is great great GREAT news for all you waiting for CoKIII. This is the closest we've been EVER to the story being published. Thanks for all the support.
As a side note, I'm sorry if I don't reply to your neomails. For some reason my browser won't let me reply. Still, to all who have written – thanks a lot for the support. It's finally paying off.

Well, a bit of bright news for you. Here's what I received from the Editor yesterday:
Dear Fier,
Your Neopian Times submission was rejected because we had too many good entries in this category this week and there was not enough room for them all. Please try again next week.
What this basically means is that they couldn't find anything wrong with the story, only that it was one of the many GOOD entries this week and they had to take away a few. Thus… there's still a bit of hope. :)

To any fans that are still loyal and await my story – I am deeply sorry. I don't know if my story will ever be accepted, meaning that the cliffhanger of CoKII may never be solved. Trying to get this story published has given me only anger and resentment toward the Times, as well as great sadness. I continue to be ignored entirely – no considerations, no rejections, nothing. I've tried writing the Neopian Times Writers Forum, and even in their supposed kindness it was obvious they hadn't read all the facts. I will continue trying to get it published, but if by the end of this year they still ignore me, I won't try anymore.
Please see my FAQ section below for ways you can help.

Still trying. I've decided to enlist your help in publishing my story. Below, in the FAQ section, there is a new 'question' for you to read. Please do as it says – it might help getting the story published.
Saturday, December 2, 2006
There is still no word from the Editor regarding CoKIII. At one point, about a month and a half ago, they rejected it because 'they had too many good submissions' that week, and that I should try again. I took this as a good sign, but sadly, when I resubmitted it for what must be the tenth time or more, they ignored me completely. Now, over a month after their last note to me, I still haven't received word. Today I submitted the story yet again. Let's hope that it goes through this time.
Good news though! I'm going to give you a sample from the story for being so patient! Look down at the FAQ section – its near the bottom.
Sunday, October 1, 2006
The Editor seems determined to entirely block CoKIII. First, I didn't have descriptions (color and species) on some of the characters – yet those same characters were in the first two stories, of which this is a sequel. I fixed that and resubmitted, but they rejected it because there are characters painted a color that doesn't exist (ie, black darigan and royal blue). Even though I had those same characters in the past two stories – and the main ones at that? I don't think this Editor noticed the III at the end of the title. Well, I submitted it again with a note about colors and past stories, and had no reply for about a month. So I resubmitted it yet again. This time they rejected it because they had too many good stories like mine last week, and said I should try again next week. I submitted it yet again on Thursday or Friday. Hopefully this time they'll accept it. I did have this story finished back in July – it's the Editor's fault you loyal readers must wait so long. Sorry :(
Sunday, July 30, 2006
The Chronicles of Knight III has been submitted! If it's accepted, I'll reveal the title. Should be accepted :) Next project – World Dominate!
Friday, July 28, 2006
Yay! CoKIII is finished! I'll be editing it now, and adding HTML codes for italics and the like. I'll most likely submit it next week. Look for it in the coming weeks!
Tuesday, July 25, 2006
Sorry for the delay. I'm still working on part ten of CoKIII, but I have a good excuse – I was on vacation ;) I'll be writing the last three parts soon, and submitting it soon after. Thanks for being patient with me!
Friday, June 30, 2006
Well, part nine of twelve is finished of CoKIII, and part ten is soon to follow. I should be finished with it early next week, where I'll go over it and add any HTML coding, before submitting it some time next week. So in about two to three weeks, the story should start, if it is accepted by the staff. Good luck to me :)
Thursday, June 22, 2006
Sorry I haven't updated in so long. I've had lots of things going on, and Neo-stories were moved to a later date. Well, with the arrival of summer I've finally found the time to continue the Chronicles of Knight series – that's right, I'm working on CoKIII. Can't tell anyone what it's called, though ;) You'll find out in the months to come. I plan on updating much more often, to keep any that are viewing this page in touch with what I'm working on. After I finish CoKIII (which is the last in the CoK trilogy), I'll work on the sequel to World Dominate, which has quite a few surprises in store. Well, I'll update again soon. If you're reading this – thanks for staying loyal to my tales.
Thursday, September 8, 2005
Wow, a long time without updates! Well, as some may have noticed, I finally have a new story out (World Dominate: Over Cheery) which will be fully (almost) explained as the next few weeks go on. There are some new FAQ questions, and several other little updates. This weekend I'll probably recode some of the sections.
Friday, June 24, 2005
Today Rebuilding the Forsaken ends *sigh* The real reason I came on here, though, is because I have new fanart! Yay! Thank you so much, sara_mossflower! The artwork is now in the fanart section.
The new issue of the Times is out, and Rebuilding the Forsaken officially ends. Sorry it was so short, and left you with cliffhangers! *cackles* I'm sorry to say that I probably won't be working on sequels for a few months.
There is also a new section for "Future Stories" where you can see (sort-of) what I will be/already am working on.
Thursday, June 23, 2005
Aww, my Rebuilding the Forsaken shall be over tomorrow. I'm hoping by next week the Editor accepts either my second writing article (yay, there's a second one!) or my new mini-series about a Krawk. I've created a section for my own pictures. There is a new picture in the fanart section as well (there is one other, but I seem to have temporarily lost it).
A few things around the page have been changed around, deleted, or added.
Thursday, June 16, 2005
Hurray! Summer's finally here! Sorry for the time spent without update—I've been incredibly busy with homework. Since the last update there is a new article of mine in the Times, "A Guide for Future NT Stars." It did, as I had expected, outstandingly well. Now lots of people can begin to write better (not saying they didn't do so before)
I am working on more articles for the Times about writing, as well as short stories. My biggest project is with the continuation of the Chronicles of Knight (which won't be out for quite a while yet) and with my other massive stories for the Times.
I also added a section for name pronunciations outside of the Chronicles of Knight. More things to come soon!
Saturday, June 4, 2005
Long time, no update :( Since the last update my trophy count has gone up to eighteen. There is another short story of mine in the Times, called "The Lupe Pack". It did surprisingly well, considering the short amount of time I spent on it. And… The Chronicles of Knight II: Rebuilding the Forsaken is out now. It's four parts long, and more of a teaser for a different story. Go on, read them!
Oh yes, there is now a picture of my uniquely colored Avari in the fan-art section.
Saturday, May 7, 2005
Wow, the Knight Within is finished already! I'm now being flooded with fanmail, both for the Knight Within and for my first ever short story, "Will You Remember Me?" Surprisingly, the most common response for the short story was "It was sad, it made me cry." *blinks* I didn't think it was all too good… But then again, I've been writing so much that I probably just… I don't know. ^^
There are three new sections at the bottom of the page, and each are still being worked on. And I'll be fixing the layout to an improved version once summer is here.
Monday, May 2, 2005
Well, all three of the stories I sent in Saturday are "being considered". Purdy fast, only two days after I sent them in! I still haven't heard about my other short story that is "being considered", though I'm sure it's stashed away somewhere. ^^
Saturday, April 30, 2005
(update) Well, I sent in the Chronicles of Knight II today, as well as a short story and an article (the article will be very helpful to many, I think). I'm still waiting for a reply to the other short story I sent in about two weeks ago (they sent a reply saying that they are "considering it for future publication". Hopefully they all get it ^^
Saturday, April 30, 2005
Well, the FAQ is up, but I'm going to wait until I put up the rest of the things. I'm currently trying to think up a new layout for this page. ^^ Enjoy the FAQ and anything else!
Friday, April 29, 2005
Finally started to re-do the site. (since you people will start coming here once I tell you to at the end of the Knight Within). The Knight Within story parts section is updated now, and I guess tomorrow I'll post the FAQ and maybe a few other goodies. I'm getting really excited about my stories now, even with how many ideas I have flying around. Foremost, I'll be sending in the Chronicles of Knight II tomorrow, after I add the HTML coding. That way it'll be out (hopefully) only a week to a few weeks after the Knight Within. You won't have long to wait!
Wednesday, April 29, 2005
Well, the Knight Within is drawing to a close, but I have great news! The sequel to it has been finished, and will probably be sent over the weekend! I still have to go through and edit in the HTML codes so they won't mess it up ^^
Monday, February 18, 2005—The Knight Within appears in the Times, and is in the Quote of the Week! Hurray, my first NT story!

Monday, February 7, 2005—YYYEESSS!!! Here's what Neo sent me today!

Congratulations! Your entry (The Chronicles of Knight: The Knight Within) has been selected to appear in a future issue of the Neopian Times. A shiny trophy has been added to your user lookup. Thank you for contributing to the Neopian Times!
Look for Fierwym's name in the Times!
I also got twelve trophies and the NT Star avvie! ^^

Friday, January 22, 2005—Wow, lookie what the Neo-staff sent me!

Thank you for submitting to the Neopian Times. Currently your submission is being held over and may be considered for future publication in the Neopian Times.

Monday, January 17, 2005—Hurrah! I finally sent in the first story!

FAQ
(newest questions at the bottom)

Where do you come up with the ideas for your stories?

For the Knight Within, I sat down one day at Word with the thought that I wished to write a Neopets story. I typed out anything and everything I might want in the story, and ended up with a tale about knights and Meridell.
How do you pronounce your characters names?
Note--I have also put names here that most may be able to pronounce, just so I don't leave any characters out.
The Chronicles of Knight (in order of appearance)
Raatri:rAAh-tree
Blake: bl'AYKE
Avari: a-VAR-ree
Tamal: TAA-maul
Aleron: AL-Ler-on
Zev:zEV
Vladimir:vLAD-dei-mir
Hyja: HIGH-jah
Kaeth: kAITH
Khallon:call-LOHN
Avak: a-VACK

Other Stories (in order of appearance)
Tori:TORE-ree
Kyle: KIE-ell
Shakia: SHA-kee-ah
Shade: :)
Roald: ROY-ald
Marcus:MARK-cuss
How did you come up with your characters names?
Most of the names I took off of Babynamer sites like Babynames dot com. Some of the names I made up, like the Nightmare's long titles. Some names I took from namer-sites, but changed them slightly. The original Raatri was "Ratri", but I didn't like the inflection on "rat". I changed it to Raatri to give it a longer a, so it would be pronounced "rAAh-tree" instead of "rat-tree". Kaeth was also a name that I changed around, though I can't remember the original ^^

Are Raatri and Avari in love/going to fall in love, etc?

I don't know how much I get this one – even though I knew I would get it at least once when I wrote the story. I kinda left it open for any romance, since I'm not all too big a fan of it and don't really know how to write it. Plus, Neo doesn't like dating, so that may rule it out. For now, Raatri and Avari are just really good friends.

Are you going to write other stories?

Yes, of course! How could I not? (I love to write) As well as some short stories and other series, I have quite a few sequels to the Knight Within planned. So never fear. Avari and Raatri will last longer than the end of the Knight Within ^^

Can you give me ideas for stories?

*blinks* I don't think so. If I gave you an idea, then I might find myself wanting to use it, and I can't help but want to write. What you need to do is write down all random thoughts for a story, and write a story based off a few of them.

Can you read my story/poem and rate it?

I dislike sending things over the internet to complete strangers, since there are people out there that may steal your work. I personally will not rate a story, for this reason. Sorry :(

Why did "Rebuilding the Forsaken" stop so abruptly? Will you continue the series?

(written 9-8-05) The ending of Rebuilding the Forsaken was a meant to be a huge cliffhanger, though I didn't expect I wouldn't work on the story for so long. It will probably be several months before I will actually get to work on it. But never fear – Avari and Raatri still have a few more adventures to complete before the series draws to an end.
Will you create a sequel to "Will You Remember Me?"
(written 9-8-05) I'm actually surprised at how many times I've been asked this (I didn't think the story was all too great). But since people enjoyed it and want a sequel, and since I had a sequel idea sort-of planned when I wrote the short tale, YES, there will be a sequel to Will You Remember Me?
Will you put CoKIII on a pet page or writing site?
Sadly, the answer to this is no. I am mistrustful of sites where you can post your stories, and I'll only resort to putting it on a pet page if it isn't accepted for quite some time more. However, as a treat for waiting so long, I'll give you a sample from the story. Note – this question will be taken out once CoKIII is accepted.
The wall gave a silent groan as it shifted and slipped away, allowed Cornelius to enter the twice-secret room beyond. Lit by ancient magic, the red eyes had no trouble seeing the wooden table that had once held other books written by Blake's hand. He sorely wished that those books could have been saved, but it was too late now. Besides, the two books he needed – or, in fact, the one book he needed most – had not been destroyed or even found. It had been left to Cornelius to find and reawaken Blake's dark legacy. A small smile glimmered across his face at the thought. Blake's legacy.
It all belonged to him.
He walked forward into the room, feeling the air around him grow colder. Standing in from of the final wall with the final room, Cornelius found himself hesitating again. It was still early enough to turn back. He could run to Darigan, and somehow they would find and destroy Hyja. He would tell Darigan about the books, and they would be destroyed, and none of their dark legacies would ever fall upon the face of Neopia. He could. He could…
Cornelius…
The Eyrie's feathers ruffled in pure shock when he heard his name, and he glanced wildly around. But even as he did so he knew that he was still alone, and that either the voice was just an illusion or…
Fulfill my legacy, Cornelius.
The Eyrie tensed, but realized that the true king talked to him now. Not Darigan. Not any other. The true king…
I will, Blake," he whispered.
He reached forward and touched the frozen stone wall. As his magic glowed crimson and the devices inside the wall turned, Cornelius could just make out the dire sounds of ice-cold laughter.
There was no turning back now.

If you have any more questions about the stories, please feel free to contact me!

Plans
Here are some of my plans and ideas for future tales. Take note that they are vague, mostly because I don't want people stealing my ideas. This is just so you can keep in mind what you may see from me in the future.
  • World Dominate II
  • sequel to Paths Not Seen
  • sequel to Will You Remember Me? (maybe)
  • Yahto's tale
  • Various writing articles
  • Ranting" article

Me Pictures
Here's all the pictures I've drawn (well, not all of them) of my characters. Enjoy! No stealing, please.

Here's what my Avari looks like, for all of you who just don't understand my description of her ^^ That's my fault for choosing to have a uniquely-colored Lupe. This is a VERY old picture of Avari, colored in (kind of) by Paint Shop Pro. You cannot steal it, nor copy it onto your own page. You can, however, use it as a color guide if you wish to draw a picture of her.

I was bored while we were eating breakfast at a restaurant one day, and so I drew this. Yes, it is on a napkin. :)

Fan Voices
This section is for fan art and other things that fans have done for me. ^^ Very nice of them…
Remember, this is *other people's* fanart, and you can not steal them.

Fan Art

The first piece of fanart will be posted once I find it :( I saved it somewhere and promised to post it, but I'll have to look for the image again. But it is coming!

A guild chose me for their background once (update: it's actually the guild I belong to now) :) I consider that fanart. *ish honored*

Sara_mossflower made a picture of Avari for me.
It's so purdyful…

Naming

The following are names of real pets that people have named after characters in my stories. ^^ If you know of others, contact me.
