hi
-blocked-fierwym, some was sent in by users like you. If you know some tips for games, then neomail Fierwym with them. Most likely they will be added.
NOTE—Fierwym has the right to refuse your tip. If such a thing happens, you will be notified by Neomail exactly why she refused it. There will usually be a good reason. She also has the right to change your tip/guide if there are misspelled words, etc. (that shouldn't be a problem.) Also, please DO NOT send in entries with "internet jargon". This is VERY annoying 2 me, and ur entry will b deleted or changed so people can read it.
It is really strange to see some people's reactions to my site. Some think it's a really great idea, while others just don't see the point. If you have received a reply from me that sounds in any way harsh, you probably said something about my site or the idea that I just didn't like. Now that I am done with this speech, you may continue.

Greetings, all! I can tell from the nice little counter that people still come to this site, which is good to know considering the poor condition it is in now. Sorry about the messy layout—Neo's sporting a bug right now, and it's happening to most large sites. Please be patient. The site still works, so go ahead and look up the tips for whatever game. I am still collecting tips if you want to send them. I know this site hasn't been updated for quite a while, and please accept my apologies. I do have quite a few game tips to upload--I guess you can just say I'm being lazy. Truly, though, I'm really busy in life. The Guide will remain for practically forever, seeing as so many actually use it.

Ok, ok, on to business. I'll be updating the newest tips/cheats/codes as soon as I can (which will probably be quite a while from now). When I actually have time (namely, this summer) I'll will be making *drum roll please* The Guide Version Two!! It should be much easier to navigate, and more pleasing to the eye. Hopefully by then Neo will get tired of playing with the stupid blocker bug and kill it, therefore ceasing all disturbances found on many Pet pages. Including this one.

Ok. You can go on to reading whatever part of this page you want now. But now you know what to look forward to. ^^

    ~~About Myself~~

Of course, you can just scroll down to the games. I'm not stopping you. For any of you that actually want to know a little about me, you have come to the right place.
Now, there's a picture of me to the right. I'm a Blue Lupe, though I'd really want the cool wings of a Darigan creature… It's just a dream for now, though. Fierwym's currently saving up Neopoints for one of her other accounts, called forgotten_place. But more on that later.

As everyone who personally knows me will say, I am extremely loyal to my family. They are the kindest people to me: shouldn't I be loyal to them? Most nights you might catch me howling out over deserted vales, telling tales of my family. *blushes* At least, that's what everyone will say. Not that I don't do this, since I do, but talking about it just doesn't seem right. *shrugs*
Now there is a common misconception about me and GAMES. I am NOT obsessed with games, as some people may think. Really, I'm not. Half the games you'll see on this page I either dislike or haven't even played. Some people think that since my site is a game-related site that all I like is GAMES. Well, I don't. Really, my site is just a continuation of my brother's site. He has a great help site for new people on Neopets, and has actually won several awards.

    ~~My Story~~

Well, I promise this will come once Fierwym's stories are published in the Neopian Times. Until then, you just wouldn't understand what I'm talking about. ^^

    ~~About My Family~~

I am the oldest of Fierwym's pets, and have two brothers and four sisters. Three of them are on Fierwym's other accounts, but we'll get to that later :)
Fierwym's a fantastic owner, though she refuses to allow us to call her "owner". To her we are her friends, not pets. She likes to read and write, and perhaps that's why she hates internet jargon and people who just can't seem to write with correct grammar/capitalization. She is not obsessed with games, like some may think. What she likes about her sites is that they help people.
If you're wondering what a "fierwym" is, you'll just have to wait. Someday you'll know :) Until then, it's either a moltenore or a fire Pteri.
Fierwym is a great fan of Neopets, and loves working on our sites. Her favorite games, in case you are wondering, are Turmac Roll and both the Hannah games. Her favorite character is Kanrik, and she was a supporter of him all the way (even when he betrayed Hannah, for Fierwym believed that Kanrik would eventually join the good side again.)
My first ever sibling and brother is Kota_Tuari. Perhaps you've heard of him, since he's gotten slightly more popular (his site has won several awards).
He's a blue Shoyru, and doesn't want to be painted. Perhaps that's a good thing. He's the only one of Fierwym's pets that doesn't want to be painted. :) He's really kind and helpful, and perhaps that's why his site is the way it is. The Aerie is a great help site for newbies, so says quite a few people.

My next sibling is Kara_Takoda the Blue Zafara. She wants a starry paintbrush, though she knows that she too will have to wait until Forgotten_Place gets its paintbrushes. She is the proud owner of the Glade, which is also a continuation of Kota's site. She's got a sweet heart, and always tries to be her own little independent person (though eventually she always comes running up to one of us for help… don't tell her I told her that.)

And then we have our Morning Star, the blue Gelert Taariq_Randi. Since day one she has been the adventurer of the family, always going just a few steps farther than we are willing to. She is currently working on the Explorer, though she tells me that her site needs to change its name. She has a brave and true heart. If she were born in Meridell I wouldn't be surprised if she became a knight.

Aletta_Aria is one of Fierwym's other accounts. It means "winged lioness" though she usually takes the Eyrie as her symbol. Aletta_Aria is Fierwym's adoption agency account, where she carries out the agency. Fierwym informs me that the agency will soon be in full swing again, for with school and all its run (very) behind.
Ok, well, Kinfe_Namir hasn't been painted Faerie yet, but that's his dream. Faerie? Yuk! Could you stand purples and pinks? Anyway, Kinfe's site is the Adoption Agency site. It's basically a record of all the Pets that have gone through Aletta_Aria's agency. Check it out: there's quite a few pets there. Oh, and he's just informed me that he wants to be painted Faerie for the wings, not the color. I guess I can't blame him then, since I want to be painted Darigan for the wings…

Akiko_Sokanon's a whole new story. She's a blue Peophin, though she wants to be painted silver. She says that it's the closest thing to grey without that depressing look :) You see, Akiko is a mistress of storms… or she will be. She loves storms. She loves the weather. She likes to watch lighting. She plays out in the rain (though I guess since she's already in the water this doesn't matter). Her greatest dream is to look up into the eye of a hurricane… Big dreams for a little Peophin :)

Fierwym's third account is called Forgotten_Place. It is just what it's called: a place. It is dedicated to one of Fierwym's favorite worlds: Maraqua. She fell in love with Maraqua a few months ago. Though there isn't much there right now, she loves the mysteriousness of it, and the beautiful pets it has. All four of the pets in Forgotten_Place will be painted Maraqua someday, and that's what Fierwym's currently saving up for. Once she buys that she'll turn to us and our paintbrushes :)

Atlantis_Storm is a playful, energetic Techo with a love of adventure to rival Taariq's. She's got a knack for plunging into something without fear, and sometimes that gets her into trouble. Take for example the time when she… *Fierwym gives a warning look* Erm, ok, I won't talk about that. Atlantis can't wait to be painted Maraqua, though that will come once Fierwym has collect four Maraqua paintbrushes and three more pets.

And then there's Nyoka, my Cobrall. He was given to me just a few days after I was born ^^ Cool, huh? He's very loyal to me, and I'm glad he's mine. *Looks around* I wonder where he is?

And so, that's my family ^^ Like them? I love them all, and to prove so just listen for my singing about them over a deserted vale…

    ~~My Friends~~

Chiv, whose full name is _Chivalry_Returns_, is my first and currently only friend outside my family. He's a knight—isn't that cool? Hopefully we become better friends in the future. ^^

Heh, you found Nyoka! Well, I guess it's only fitting that you take this award ^^ If you have a great petpage, then go ahead and take this award: it's free! Oh, yeah, if you take this award, please inform Fierwym so she can know who has one ^^

    The Games

    200m Peanut Dash
Use one or both hands to do the left and right arrow keys in the beginning, and have a friend or sibling (or you can) press the up arrow key when it is towards the end of the red bar.
Instead of doing regular jumps or even flips, as soon as you hit the ground after a log, press left" "right" "left" "right". When the next log comes, just press up and you will do a jump that is worth the most points, and possibly one of the easiest. This should get you farther

    Attack of the Slorgs
Type "marrow" in the Slorgs game to get an extra life.
    ~~submitted by the_ultimate_omega
    Carnival of Terror
Carnival of Terror (grand master): aim for each individual part of the clowns (including the umbrellas of the falling clowns). That will give you more points per clown instead of killing them with a single blow. Always keep your eyes open for the flying pies and shoot them before they hit you. If you type custard you will get more time.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs
    Cheeseroller
    Codebreakers
A good strategy is to start out with all red, check how many correct stones there are, and then add maybe 3 white. Experiment with it unless there are no white, then move on to yellow, then orange, etc.
    ~~submitted by e_mon

First pick codestones that are all of one color, and check to see if any of them are in the correct place. Repeat this with different colors until you find out which four codestones are needed to break the code. By the time you find the four, youll only have a few turns left. Put the four codestones in different positions, until you figure out which order they are to go in.
    ~~submitted by kitty020192

There are only a couple of codestones used for the first puzzle. Just guess at random on your first try, and if you get it wrong, restart the game and guess again.
    ~~submitted by chilling_apparition

    Dice Escape
To get over 1,000 remember this key: If it will cost you more points in time and in moves than the coin is worth, *dont get it* and if there is a 25 coin, get it, then restart the level. Learn the shortest moves to get to the exit, and if it helps, take screenshots to remember how you got to the exit the shortest/easiest.
    ~~submitted by spyrldragon
    Deckball
The only tip I have is to use the mirgle to your advantage. The mirgle runs around in very weird ways. If you study the way it moves then you will notice that hitting the ball a certain way will cause the mirgle to score for you. Another tip is to look at the ball when it is released. Looking at the speed, you can guess where the ball is going to be so you can score quickly. The only other tip I have is to play defensively. Stay near your goal when the mirgle is near the ball. Go after the ball only when the mirgle is a good distance away.
    ~~submitted by elegantelephant171
    Deckswabber
Start from the outside and work you way in, and unless the treasure is the large chest, dont go out of your way (i.e., across the whole board) to get to it. You get more points for finishing quickly than you do for getting injured or taking too long to get the treasure. Also, if you're almost done but an enemy is in the way, go through them, as again, you get more points by simply completing the "map" than by anything else.
    ~~submitted by spyrldragon
    Destruct-O-Match II
Type "boohooiwanttheoldgameback" and you get the old Destruct-O-Match and you can still get neopoints!
    ~~submitted by smelly_nerd

If you wait until there is only one color left to use the ? blocks you'll get a whole row of one color for more points (try to get that combined with the x3 block for triple points).
    ~~submitted by spyrldragon

    Dubloon Disaster
Dubloon Disaster (grand master): Try to never let there be more than 2 mines in the water at a time. Once there are two mines, if they are far apart, get between them till they get close then slowly go ahead so they close in towards each other while following you. Eventually they will crash into each other. If they are already close to each other, just get in front of them and slowly advance till they crash. If there are too many mines type in "scallywags" and a whirl pool will appear but be careful because you don't want to get pulled in too.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs

Just get 2 mines, and bring them together, they explode. Repeat this and you can get a very high score, you just need patience, and occasionally luck (Sometimes they appear right in front of you). ~~submitted by the_ultimate_omega

Evil Fuzzles from Beyond the Stars
Buy the gun upgrades for every level.

    Faerie Bubbles
There are no real tips for this game except to read the front page on it's game page and try to keep from getting 4 or more of the air bubbles (the earth ones can be bad too but not as bad as the air bubbles). The codes for this game are:
    • Type faerieland to change your current bubble (the one you are about to shoot) into a rainbow bubble.
    • Type stardust to turn your current bubble into a nova bubble.
    • Type slumberberry to eliminate the blocks (the dark colored lines that slowly push the bubbles down as you play each round - this code will remove them all bringing your bubbles back to the top)
    • Type bubbles to change all the bubbles into one color - the color is random.
Each code will only work once per game.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs
    Faerie Caves II
The key to faerie caves is to practice. You may have to play repeatedly to figure out some of the tougher levels, but once you get the hang of it (and beat all the levels) it becomes memory work!
    ~~submitted by mama_spork

If you're stuck on the main game levels, or have beaten the game and want new challenges, head to the neoboards and join or start a topic for "testing and rating levels." There is no scoring and you get tons of practice.

    Feed Florg
Put it on the low quality setting and use the arrow keys (just hold one down unless it looks like you're going to loose a pet, then switch directions).
    ~~submitted by spyrldragon

On Feed Florg, set the quality to low, and set the options on Mouse. Then start the game. Point the arrow down so its off the screen, or until is moves around the table by itself. Now just open a new window and forget about the game, but check back once in a while to see how the game is going. This can get you some regular scores.
    ~~submitted by ciobio

    Freaky Factory
Choose a large setting for the game size (makes the blobs easier to click) and if you have a slow computer, set the quality to low. Do your best to keep your vats full but pay attention to the colors you need at the moment and concentrate mostly on those. For instance, if your red vat is full, and yellow and blue are empty and you need to make blue plushies - if you see a blue and a yellow blob coming, don't bother with the yellow - get the blue because it's more important then go for the yellow if you still can after you've gotten the blue.
Do not click on the ice blobs, they slow down the belt. Also, once in a rare while a HUGE blob will pass through...do not click on that either as it will greatly overflow your vat. The glowing blobs are good - they will change the color of the plushies on the belt which will cause them to be worth more points (but it will only work for plushies already on the belt). The bar of soap will decrease your overflow. The angel blob will fill up a vat and if it misses a vat but hits a plushie on the belt, it will make it an angel plushie and increase it's value. Late in the game there is what looks like a star made out of wire. If you click on it, it will automatically fill up all your vats.
Last but not least, if you don't have any plushies on the belt or about to go onto the belt, do not bother hitting the grundo if he appears. Worry about filling the vats and once plushies start being made, then hit the grundo.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs

If you hit the grundo with a paint blob he will go away (handy if you cant get to him without missing blobs into the bins). Also, any paint blob that lands on a plushie will paint that plushie whatever color the blob was (not just angel blobs do this).

    Hannah and the Ice Caves
Have Armin close to you whenever possible.
    ~~submitted by vanillasidhe

Here are some very important things to remember:
    1.Hannah-Can jump far, swim
    2.Armin-Can dig, kill skeletal warriors
Keep these in mind. It helped me! ;) Also, try to remember where you have been. It helps keep down the frustration level, which I know can get pretty high while playing this game. Good luck braving the Ice Caves!
    ~~submitted by calvin_and_hobbes35

    Hasee Bounce
The directions say to use the mouse but I find it much easier to use the arrow keys to move and the spacebar to jump. Just keep your eyes open. The more doughnutfruits you catch in one swipe, the more each one is worth. If you fill the Hasee letters you get 20 extra seconds but if you fill it in with all of one color you get an extra 40. When your time meter gets near the end, type in doughnutfruit (be careful to type it in correctly) and it will fill your meter back up.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs

If you type "doughnutfruit" before the timer runs out, it'll re-fill your time. You can only do this once, though... and if you start a new game, you must open a new window to do it... It's helped me get thru it... Also, I don't usually type that in unless I have 100 points already... That's how I usually get higher scores... ~~submitted by blackmagdalina

    Ice Cream Factory
Try to move as little as possible. You are less likely to get hit with the ice cream. If you find yourself trapped by ice cream right click where you are and quickly left click somewhere the ice cream is not at. It moves you there.

    Jelly Blobs of Doom
As everyone knows, the Jelly_World doesn't exist. Or at least, that's what the Neo-staff says. Anyway, there is a game that you can play there, follow one of these two routes:
www.cloudneo.com (click on the jelly link)
    http://www.neopets.com/
    games/jellyblobs.phtml
    ~~submitted by fierwym

The trick to Jelly Blobs Of Doom, is not to hold down the arrow keys, or else you will more then likely lose control of the chomby. I suggest tapping the keys instead. Oh, and you also have to be patient! If you try to eat jelly that your not sure you can, then there is a better chance of you getting eaten! So just take your time and try to avoid being nearby the big blobs of jelly. It may take a lot longer, but you will get a better score!
    ~~submitted by charmin400

Type fishnegg during gameplay and a fishnegg will briefly appear on the screen, grab it for 50 points. You won't grow larger. You can do the same with rainbow negg, worth 20 points. You can only do these ONCE!
    ~~submitted by veryyummyturnip

At the very end, type in "marissa" before you send your score to get double np (or so they say, I have never found out for myself)
    ~~submitted by pixieclear

    Type fishnegg =extra points
    Rainbownegg =extra points
Never go at corners; go towards the middle as much as you can.

Start typing random text while playing and when you type enough a jelly blob that takes up half the screen will appear, and it will say "you shouldn't type random text, you never know what will happen".

Full screen make the game much easier to avoid the blobs, if your computer isnt fast enough, low quality should help.

Type "spiderbite" in korbats lab for an extra life.
    ~~submitted by cowlover219

Brickles anyone? Like that old game try to get the ball on top of the bricks, then it does all the work for you. Also, check out sites like tineneohelp .com for a list of what potions do what (like the light blue ones which slow you down!) Also, if you get the rocket potion, you can guide the rocket using the L/R arrow keys.

    Magax Destroyer
Go slow on this one. The best thing is to take the screen just a little bit at a time. Like with any game, practice is needed. You'll develop your skills to dodge those puke blobs from the Ghost Chias. If you see Hubrid, try to get to an area where there are not a lot of ghosts... just in case he freezes you. The health orbs are worth 5 points, so even if you don't need them at the moment, get them. They'll increase your score. Also, they can disappear if you shoot too close to them, so watch out.

    Meerca Chase
It's always good to start on the level above what you're used to. Get your fingers warmed up, then go on what you regularly play at (unless you play hard, then good for you) And it ALWAYS no matter what helps if you have your wrists resting on something like a jell wrist rest or a small pillow or even an empty can of coke. When you do play, it's easier to move in one direction in a pattern. For me, I think it's easy to move clockwise in a square pattern. (if that made sense) And that's all. The rest is strategy and finger agility. (If you play piano, this game's easy)

    Snowmuncher
Snowmuncher: type buuuurrrrrrrrp to reduce bloatedness by 50%. Limited Usage.
    ~~submitted by the_ultimate_omega

If you are at 100% bloat it is better to run out of time (and start the level over) than to eat and start over where you are (more points). Also, if a snow worm is after you (but you are trying to run out of time) run left until it follows you, then run right until it follows you, then left etc. The snow worm will only go left and right and not down until time has run out. Also, if you can get chains going (where you eat part of the snow and a lot of others fall) youll get more points for all that snow that falls and is destroyed.
    ~~submitted by spyrldragon

When you type "snowberries" your bloat rating will be decreased. It can only be used once per game. ~~submitted by flowr79

Type "plzsutekcanihavemoretime" and you get a 30 second time bonus. Also type "scarabaeus" to get another 30 second time bonus.
    ~~submitted by smelly_nerd

If you type "pyramibread" in the middle of the game, it will show you a possible move. This can be used over and over again. You may also type "pyramibrea" during pauses, either hourglass activated or "No more moves" screen. Then at any time, press "d" and it'll show you a possible move.
    ~~submitted by chrono_trgger

Start by looking at the bottom to see what you can do, a lot of times moving one thing on the bottom will cause a chain reaction to occur with the rest of the rows. Also, if you ever see the "head" thingie, get it to the bottom, it will clear the whole board!

    Turmac Roll
This is, by far, one of my favorite games on Neopets. Basically, you must guide the little Turmac through an endless course of hills and tree stumps, collecting the yummy berries along the way. You use the arrow keys to control the Turmac. The sad thing about this game, though, is that since the berries appear in random order, and each is worth anywhere from one to *lots of* points, you never know how well you'll do. An expert at the game might play for a long time, but if they only get the one-point berries, well, it doesn't do much good. A beginner might try and get tons of high-point berries and find themselves on the high score table. The key to this game, like any other, is practice and patience.
    ~~submitted by fierwym

I WAS going to submit for Turmac Roll, but it's very good already. Just one thing to add....the only way to get better is to PRACTICE
    ~~submitted by megaman4910

All I can offer for this is to keep your eyes ahead of the turmac so you know what is coming up...don't focus on the turmac itself otherwise you won't be prepared. The hard setting will give you the most points but beginners should start on the easy level to get the hang of it. There is a pattern to the different boards and when you've been playing for a while you'll eventually be able to have an idea of what is coming up before it even shows up.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs

You can start in easy and once you get to about 500 points then you automatically move on to hard! It takes a while but it gets you a good starting score. To get over that nasty three stumps in a row, wait till the very edge of the first one, slow down just a bit and jump twice in rapid succession and you normally get over it...
    ~~submitted by pixieclear

I say that you should start with the hard level because if you have played them all there is absolutely no difference in any of the levels except that you get more points with the hard level. I also think that you should practice a lot because if you only play to get Neopoints then you will never get good enough to win any good amount of Neopoints.
    ~~submitted by googliebear37

All I can say is practice on easy. When you start getting better, try medium (or if your REALLY sure of it, hard) Jump when you are about 2 inches away from a thorn/log. And the #1 rule is to stay aware. Don't let missing that good berry aggravate you, it'll only make it harder for you. And, finally, if you concentrate on neopoints the whole time, it'll make you lose earlier. This calls for ALL games.
    ~~submitted by usa_the_beautiful

Practice makes perfect on this game. If you memorize the patterns in the game (they repeat, such as a long straight run after three hills) you'll be able to roll longer and get more berries.

    Usuki Frenzy
The sets needed for each game are the same. Just memorize them so you don't have to keep stopping to look to see what you need. Obviously start in the room the game opens to then go to the room to the right, then up, then left then left again. That is the quickest way through the house.

    Volcano Run
Type "lava" to get a shield.
    ~~submitted by smelly_nerd

Volcano run is not an easy game; however it is good for a quick profit! Gems are worth 20 points, so do not endanger yourself for them! When you reach 100 pts, the bricks start to move. The game speeds up at (I think it's) 250pts, 750pts 1000pts 1500pts and 2000 pts. When you reach 2000, the shields stop being available. Playing on full screen helps you see the fireballs.
    ~~submitted by veryyummyturnip

Typing "lava" while playing Volcano Run will give you a shield. Unfortunately, you're likely to have to have to type it in without looking at your keyboard.
    ~~submitted by kougramaster387

Always grab the blue crystals if you can, but remember that shields stop appearing at 2000 points. If you find yourself without a shield after 1600-1700 points, consider dodging the crystals for a while in hopes a shield will pop up.

Just keep your eyes open. Through the game, learn which members give you the higher points so when the game starts to get really fast (which makes it hard to hit them) do your best to aim for the ones that give you the most points. If you type "a5paragu5" it will give you a large mallet for one round.
    ~~submitted by rdr2thestrs

When you're in the harder, faster rounds (9†) a lot of people slow down their cursors because there are so many people to whack at the same time. They slow it down cause the cursor lags but even though you can't see the cursor moving when you move it still goes at the same speed. So if you see a Staff at the top and you move towards it CLICK your mouse anyway because your cursor is already there without you seeing it.

Only trick to this game is knowing how to touch type. If you have to look at the keyboard when you type you probably won't have much luck.

    Zurroball
You always want to use the energy ball in Zurroball. When you click to drop the energy, bounce it over to the wall, on either side. Bounce it at a slant to make it hit the wall once (left/right zurro). Then make it bounce straight up (freestyle). Then hit the wall again. So you want to do this: right/left zurro, freestyle, right/left zurro, freestyle. Every once in a while, you need to hit the ball over the glowing red line.
    heres the scoring system: freestyle=2pt, right/left zurro=1pt, grounder=10pt, boomerang=3pt, around the world=10pt
    ~~submitted by streetglow50

In the start up page, click on the little T" on the Grundo's shirt and then you can use him as the ball.
    ~~submitted by smelly_nerd

    WARNING! FOR SKILLED PLAYERS ONLY!
One of the other tips suggests the energy ball, however, I prefer the regular zurro ball. Let it drop, and click it once or twice to slow it down. Once it gets low, let it touch the metallic rim in the background, then hit it. This should get you a grounder. 30 NP! Every 10 or so grounders, cash your points. You only need 334 for 1000np (if you count the freestyles). Oh, don't forget to play on full screen, it helps you click the ball. ~~submitted by veryyummyturnip

    ~~Hannah and the Pirate Caves~~

    Can you Brave the Caves?
Hannah and the Pirate Caves offers exiting gameplay and creative game-building elements.
    Neopets: The Official Magazine Issue#6

There you are, starting at that one last treasure chest just out of reach, when all of the sudden, three arrows come flying straight at you and down Hannah goes to Davy Jones' locker. Grumbling, you try yet again.
In the exciting game Hannah and the Pirate Caves, you control Hannah, a daring Usul who discovers a book telling of the dangerous pirate caves. Armed only wit her sharp wits, Hannah must traverse 20 levels of pirate caves, collecting treasure on her way through. Be careful though… danger lurks in every corner.

    Matching Wits with Pirates

You'll find that running blindly through the tunnels is a sure-fire way to waste hours of precious time. With just a little knowledge and thought, you can whiz through the caves and, hopefully, get a shiny new trophy in the process!
During your journey through the caves, there are several things to keep in mind. Here are some tips and tricks.

    • You happen to notice it's taking an awfully long time for the water to fill up the room so you can get to that arrow crate. Maybe there was something you missed earlier that should fill this time? Perhaps you missed a secret passageway you were meant to explore? Generally, the game moves pretty fast, so unless it's clear you need to stay put for the moment, look around in case you missed something.
    • You're running along through a cave and find a ditch in the ground, just big enough for Hannah to lay in. Rather than mindlessly jumping over it, ponder your surroundings. Sure, many things are there simply to distract you or add danger, but if something seems oddly out of place, chances are, you are meant to use it some way. Sure enough! Here come some inescapable arrows! I hope that ditch wasn't too far behind…
    • The simplest solution isn't always the correct one. Before rolling that boulder off the ledge to smash the platform, stop and take a look at your surroundings first. Not only are boulders good for destroying platforms, but they can also clear your way of stalagmites. Make the most out of the resources given to you.
    • It never hurts to take a peek! In the loading page, when it displays a small version of the map, take a good look at it! Even the best pirates need a map to find their treasure. If you can't figure your way past a certain trap or puzzle, take the time to study the map, and perhaps figure it out. It will save you time in the long run, especially if the difficult section is deep within the maze.

    Completing the Game

To finish the game with the best score possible, you must make it through all six tutorials and 20 levels, collecting every jewel and all 511 treasure chests. There are jewels hidden in every game level except tutorial #6. You only have three lives, so pick up heart cases when you find them. However, there are only seven in the whole game, so take care and good luck!

    Building the Perfect Pirate cave

If you have spent a lot of time playing Hannah and the Pirate Caves and you're looking for a new challenge you can create your own level for the game. It's simple to get started. Just download the CaveMaker executable program.
Now, as soon as you download CaveMaker, your first instinct might be to just begin right off the bat and start building. However, with just a little planning, you can turn a good cave into an outstanding one. Here's how:

    Planning

Find a piece of graph paper and begin to plot the layout of your cave first. Nothing is worst than building you cave, then discovering there isn't quite enough room to allow Hannah to make that jump…
To avoid this, careful planning and an understanding of the basics of cave building are needed, especially what you can and can't do with your cave. Here's a list of several things to keep in mind:

    Technical

    • The minimum cave size is about 265 squares, which is a 16x16 grid.
    • Hannah is 1.5 squares tall, so keep this in mind, and leave jumping room!
    • You MUST have one entrance (starting position) and exit (door).
    • You may only have one heart and jewel case in a cave.
    • A water level is signified by only one block.
    • Don't use punctuation in your level titles.
    • Secret passages fill with air, even if they are underwater.
    • The apex of Hannah's jumps are five squares in height, from the ground to where her head reaches.
    • Put the door at least one block away from the edge to make it accessible. Remember, in the game, it takes up for spaces.

    Style

A cave can be quite clever, full of traps and arrows, but if all it looks like is a bunch of squares and blocks, it can get quite boring to traverse. There really is no reason to make all your ceilings look like they were drawn with a ruler. Stagger the blocks and stalactites to make the cave look more natural!

    Testing Your Cave

Make sure if there are different paths to take that the level can be completed. As the designer, you know how to move through the level, but players will not, and they may do something you do not expect. During testing, go off your beaten path and try to play your level as if you do not know your way through.
The best advise? Test, test, test! If you have lots of arrows or a particularly fast-moving cave, be sure to test out the timing again and again until you are sure it can be done. There's certainly no sense in making a cave that cannot be beaten.
Remember, try to make your cave fun and challenging, but not so much that it becomes frustration to your players!

Fierwym: Yahto, it's a trophy! Your trophy!
    Yahto: Oh… yeah…

Anyway, if you think your site is EXCELENT, apply for Yahto's award.
You might just win it! Please read the following rules first, though:

    • You must have worked hard on your petpage to make it unique and creative.
    • It has to be easy to read and navigate (no clashing colors or dark words on dark backgrounds, must be pleasing to the eye, etc.)
    • In your neomail please include:
      • Your pet's exact name
      • The url of your pet's page
      • Exactly why you should win the award.
Please neomail Fierwym. You will be notified whether or not you won the award. If you didn't win it I'll tell you why. Good luck!
Note—if I stumble across a page that I feel is worthy of this award, I will send a notice to you asking if you want it (which, of course, you most probably will ^^ )

Here's the people who have won my award. If your name is not on this list, you haven't won the award!

    My Other Awards

Of course, it's only fitting for a game-guide site to give out a game-guide award. If you've dedicated your site to a certain game (or games), then you are eligible for this award. Please just send me the name of the pet with the game-guides and you'll probably receive this award ^^

Sites that have won the "Excellent Game-Guide Award" (if you're not on the list, you haven't won!!!)
    -blocked-

Last but not least, I will give out these awards to people who have been very generous in giving out game tips. Depending on how many one gives, and the size of these, some people may win these awards. If you'd like to know exactly what you must do to win one of these, just neomail me.

Now, I'm still not sure where Nyoka my Cobrall went, though I think he has an unlimited supply of awards, and you can take one for free. ^^ If, of course, you find Nyoka.

Ok, if you have received a Neomail from me it will tell you to come here for more information. Listed below should be all the answers to your questions, and also a list of replies that I just DO NOT want to see. It would be helpful if you read this before sending me a tip/guide. Sorry if anything sounds blunt, but I'm tired of receiving neomails with such in them.

<br>
<ul>
<li>I am looking for guides and tips for games by people who have *some* experience for people who just need a little help.
<li>You don't have to be Send in ONLY guides and tips for games.

  • No "internet jargon" i.e. "u","2", "ppl", etc. Any sent in will be either deleted or decoded into normal English.
  • Guides/tips are checked for grammar/capitalization errors. Any errors found will be corrected. (this shouldn't be a problem.)
  • Tips/guides can be refused. You will be notified if this happens, and I will tell you why it was refused.
  • Check to make sure you are not sending in a repeat. This does not mean a repeat of a certain game (try the Turmac Roll scroll). I'm talking about same cheats and stuff like that. If the game you want to send an entry for is already here, make sure it doesn't just repeat what a different user had to say in different words. Make it unique.
  • Related to the above rule: There is only one exception where you'll find something like "submitted by ___ and ___". This is if my page has not been updated with new info, yet someone sends in the same cheat/link. It's not their fault they repeated: they didn't know they had ^^ But that's the ONLY way.
  • Of course, you do not HAVE to send in something. Simply forget this page. :( And if you don't have something nice to say, please don't reply. I'll take your silence as a "no". It's less offending than a rude response.

    Wall of Shame

    • Do not reply by saying "I do not have a tip/guide." Read the detailed list for one exception to this rule.
    • Do not ask "What is in it for me?" You will get a link to your lookup under your post and the thought that you have contributed to this site, nothing more.
    • Do not say "Give me an item and I'll tell you…" This is closely related to the rule above. I mean it, can't you just send in something like everyone else does?
    • Do not send me a Neofriend request on the basis of "We both like games." This is not a good reason to start a friendship, and your request will be deleted.
    • Do not send something like "I like *insert game here* because it's fun…" This is a site for GUIDES AND TIPS, not opinions like this. If you start off an entry with a guide/tip in it with something like this, that's fine. But not that sentence alone.
    • Do not ask me if I want to compete. I do not.
    • Do NoT wRiTe In AlTeRnAtInG cApS aNd NoN-cApS. tHiS iS hIgHlY aNnOyInG aNd YoUr MeSsAgE wIlL bE dElEtEd.

    Some Things I'm Looking For

    • Of course, tips and guides for games.
    • Tips can range from one sentence to a few paragraphs. They are just quick suggestions and/or cheat codes.
    • Guides are more in-depth and range from one paragraph to *** paragraphs. They give more details than tips, and can be quite useful.
    • Walkthroughs. If you have the time, submit a walkthrough for a certain game. These are complete guides to games with multiple levels.
      • Complete walkthrough for Hannah and the Pirate Caves
      • Complete walkthrough for Hannah and the Ice Caves.
If you send in a walkthrough it will be placed between the Magazine and Neopian Times sections.
    • Also, links to places that have guides/tips. ^^

    Rules and Wall of Shame

    Detailed List

Ok, either you're here because you just want to read the detailed list or because you didn't follow the rules above. Sorry for the length of it :(

    Rules

    • If you haven't yet noticed, Yahto's site is a collection of guides and tips sent in by users like you.
    • This means that all I want you to send back are guides and/or tips.
    • Please DO NOT use internet jargon when mailing me a guide to put on here. It will be posted, but not until after I have deciphered it and changed it to regular speech.
    • Please note, before any tip/guide is posted, it is checked for grammar/capitalization errors. If I spot these, the will be corrected. That really shouldn't be a problem. If you don't want me to change the errors, please do not Neomail me a tip/guide with errors in it.
    • I reserve the right to refuse any tip/guide. If such a thing happens, then you will be notified by Neomail as to exactly why it was refused.
    • Before sending in a tip/guide, please remember that someone just might have sent in the exact same thing before. I receive so many Neomails with the exact same cheat code for Hasee Bounce or Volcano Run. Remember, the boxes *scroll*.
    • In reference to the above rule, there is currently one way in which a tip/guide will be posted even if it's already there. If you send in a cheat code that has already been posted, but also send in exactly when/why you like to use it, then I'll consider posting it.
    • All complements are welcome. :)

    Wall of Shame
These are basically responses that do NOT want to find.

    • "I do not have a tip/guide." This can be very annoying. Of course, if you are saying it as an apologetic response to my Neomail, then my response will be very friendly. Not having a tip/guide is understandable, and I won't get mad at you for it. What I do get mad/annoyed at are rude-sounding replies. If you receive a Neomail from me that sounds in any way harsh, check your own reply to me.
    • "What's in it for me?" I never want to see a reply like this again. No, you will not get prizes or Neopoints. You will get a link to your lookup and the thought that you have helped out with this site. My response to this: coldness, anger, a cold response, and a "DELETE".
    • "Give me an item and I'll tell you…" Come on, people. If you've read the rules you'll know what your prize is. My response: "Like I'll really fall for that…"
    • "Can I be your Neofriend?" Urg, I actually received a Neo-friend request on the basis that "you like games and I like games, soooo…." This is NOT, in my opinion, a reasonable foundation for a Neo-friendship. I am NOT obsessed with games. This is really another version of a help-site (like my Shoyru Kota's), this time for games and not for New Neopians. My response to this: raised eyebrows and a "DELETE".
    • Please do not send in something like "I like *insert game here* because it is fun…" This is not a site for these type of entries, but for tips and guides. My response: "Do you have a tip/guide for *insert game here*?" If not, then it will be shaking my head in frustration and another "DELETE".
    • Also, please check the games below, especially the one you plan to send a guide/tip for. If that certain tip is already there, please do not send the same thing. My response to a repeat: "Sorry, I've already received that," and sometimes "DELETE".
    • I DO NOT want to compete. If you send a reply saying "Want to challenge me to *insert game here*, then I will respond by asking you if you actually read what I wanted.

Ok, if you can actually send in something that follows all these rules, please do so. I'm sorry for putting this here, but I'm tired of receiving these types of responses and telling over and over again what I want.
