Welcome to my Adoption Page! Here you will find my rules for adopting, some tips, examples of good applications, and all of the pets that I have up for adoption!

But before you go looking through this page, please read this disclaimer.

Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape, or form SELLING, TRADING, or taking other forms of payment for my fosters. By applying you recognize that by your own decision you are giving up your time to make an application for a pet that you might not even be selected for and that the only np you have to dish out is what the pound will charge. I also can not guarantee that the new owner I select will get the pet. Once a pet is in the pound they are open to anyone.

I would also at this time like to address the issue of applications. There has been talk on neoboards about apps being illegal and against Neopet's rules. This is infact FALSE. This rumor was set straight in The Neopian Times Editorial, Issue 245, 23rd Day of Relaxing Y8. This is what it said:

Hi TNT. I saw someone on the boards who said that making applications for pets is against the rules because it's basically begging for the pet. If the pet is up for adoption, is it really against the rules? After all, some people put a LOT of effort into those apps. Thanks! ~ bananas_and_cream

Agh! No, applications are fine, as long as the player understands that the Neopet is NOT guaranteed to them, even if they are chosen. Anything can happen in the pound. Begging is more along the lines of making boards such as, "IZ NE1 ABANDONING A CYBUNY? can i have it plzzzzzzzzzz?" If a person posts, "I am abandoning a Cybunny, please post here with the reasons you think you should get him/her," and someone responds with reasons, it falls more into the area of asking than begging. Of course, if the person responding degenerates into spamming: "PICK ME PLZZZZZ! PLZZZZZZZ! PLZZZZZZZZ!" well, that's another story. What we're saying is, please just use common sense.

To anyone that would like to adopt a Neopet, take a moment to think things out before posting or Neomailing someone. If *you* were looking for someone to care for your Neopet, would you give it to the person that says:

I think I'd be a wonderful owner. My Neopets are always well fed and happy. I'm looking forward to decorating her Petpage, and entering her in the Beauty Contest! Please consider me as her new owner. Thank you."

or

OMGGGGGGGGG!!! I ALWAYS WANTED A LIMITED EDITION NEOPET!!!!!11 can i have her plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz? i dont have ne neopoints *CRY* can i have a codestone?"

Also, NEW UPDATE ON PETPAGE APPLICATIONS
In issue 342 of the Neopian Times, the issue of REQUIREING petpage applications was addressed.

During a discussion over a deliciously large bowl of Jelly Bellies we have decided that extreme pet applications will no longer be tolerated on the site. What we mean by extreme includes requests for Petpages to be made for the Neopet as part of the application, the owner of the Neopet being refunded or gifted in any way to compensate for the "raising" of the Neopet, or anything beyond a standard application. If the owner wants you to write an little essay about why you would be a good choice, that is fine. (We encourage everyone to use their writing skills!) But going off the deep end of attempting to find a good owner for your Neopet to forcing people through hoops to boost your ego and making it a competition will no longer be welcome on the site.

Now while I personally don't agree with that last line about foster parents requiring petpage apps to boost their egos, their decision still stands that PETPAGE APPS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO ADOPT A PET! You can read it here it is at the bottom of the page. KK now on to the rules!!

~RULES FOR ADOPTION~

1)Must have an account that is 4 months or older for most colors. This is Neopet's rule... not mine

2)If you want to attmept to transfer by way of the pound, then you must have AIM or MSN. I do not have yahoo, sry.
If you do not have any of these, you can use AIM Express. It opens AIM in your browser and its free to use and to get a user name. I tried it myself and it seems to work fine. Just be sure to have your popup blocker off.

3)Please read over the Adoption FAQs at

if you've never fostered before This will make things go more smoothly.

4) You must take the Pledge of Good Ownership and copy and paste it in either your userlookup or shop or the foster's lookup or pet page. You can get it by going to http://billopan.com/adopt/pledge.php

5) When you apply, please don't use chatspeak. If you do I will ignore the application. Also, please do not submit one line applications. At least show that you really want this pet by taking the time to write a little more ( you can do a poem, story, or just say what you plan to do with your new pet) It should be longer than a paragraph. And don't just put in random enters to make it look like there is more than one... it makes you look silly.

6) When talking about the foster, please remember that they do have a NAME and a GENDER. Do not refer to them as "that pet" or "it" or even just the species.

7)Please try to neomail me only once with your application. I do have more than one foster up and I tend to get a bunch of apps... so my mail box can get full fast ^_^ If you haven't heard from me in like a week or so though, feel free to send it again ^_^. Please put the pets name and species as the subject so I know what pet you are talking about right off the bat. I do try to reply to everyone that applies... but if for some reason you haven't heard from me, feel free to send me a little poke (try to wait at least a week though please) asking if I recieved your app ^_^. I'm a busy person IRL too ya know.

8)Please send all applications to supisweetattack . If they are sent elsewhere, they will be deleted.

9)While a petpage application is not required for any of my pets, they are still nice ^_^. Even if you are just typing up a paragraph or something, if you have a spare petpage, please put it on there so that I can keep the links... I tend to forget to copy neomails and then they get deleted... and then I have to ask you to resend it... eh, just a mess. You don't have to do anything special to it... it could just be a white background with txt... but it will help me keep better track of things.

If you don't have an extra petpage, no worries. You can just neomail them to me, but you may wanna keep a back up of it just in case ^_~

Some Things I Look For
I DO look at your account(s). I check for the following things but that doesn't mean that you have to have all of them... but at least one out of four would be nice. What I'm looking for is to see how you take care of your pets.

• Do your pets have personalities?
• Do they have lookups?
• Do they have petpages?
• Do they have rooms in your neohome?

So you think you will make a good owner? Followed all the rules? Then send in your application!

~Tips~

In this section you will find a basic outline of what would be in a great application. You do not need to put all of this in your app but the more that you have, the better chance you have of you app getting noticed and possibly increasing you chances of getting your dream pet. Let's face it, petpage apps may no longer be required, but you can bet your bottom neopoint that people will still make them. And sadly, that's all some foster parents (though not all) will care about.

I. Welcome

• small intro into app
• make sure to address the foster parent with their name (don't just use the #visitor thing) and the foster as well.
• maybe add a joke or something

II. About Me

• your interests
• your oldest account
• list your accounts and link to them
• tell if and why you were ever frozen

III. Future

• Neohome?
• Battle Dome pet?
• Role Play?
• Beauty Contest?
• Petpet? (if yes what kind?)
• It is always a good idea to either put some items in your shop for the foster or set up a trade and link to it so that the foster parent knows what you have instore for the foster.

IV. History (Story)

• How the pet got their color
• How they met you
• How they got the petpet you plan on giving them
• Or anything else you can thing of that would be interesting and show creativity ^_^

V. RP Sample

• There really isn't much that I can put under here because the foster parent will be able to tell if you are experienced in RPing or not. And if you are, then there are no tips that I can give... except make it more than one paragraph ^_^

VI. Art

• If you said that you would be entering the pet in the BC, then you should defenantly give examples (at least 2)!!
• If you didn't say that you would, it still couldn't hurt for you to try... even if you aren't good at drawing. You can also request art (art trades) of the foster to put into this section. Just make sure to credit.

VII. Family

• Talk about your permies (perminant pets)
• Maybe have them say a little something to the foster

VIII. Why *foster's name*

• Why did you select this pet out of all the others
• Don't just say that is was because of the color or name... give better reasons than that ^_^
• List any personal attachments you may have to the pet like if you used to have a pet of this color, similar name, ect.

IX. Why Me?

• How long you are on daily (approx.)
• Do all of your pets have look ups? petpages? petpets?
• Do you plan to enter the pet into a lot of contests?
• Previous transferring experience or can you get back up?
• Basically just do your best to convince the foster parent that you are the best choice.

X. Bye

• wrap everything up
• if someone helped you with the layout or (in my foster's cases) you got your app evaluated, be sure to credit them
• thank the foster parent for taking the time to read your app
• wish them luck in finding a new owner and say that youhope that they will consider you for the new owner. Never come right out as say "Please accept me as the new owner"

Extra Tid-Bits to earn you some Brownie points

• Dedicate your look up to the foster
• Dedicate your shop to them
• Take the pledge (even if the pet isn't from TNO)
• Look through the HTML/CSS help section here on Neo to help with you petpage apps. Belive me, the majority of the time a petpage/webpage app will win over a neomail one hands down

And there you have it. Like I said in the beginning... you don't need to use all of this but when applying for a pet that you know you will have a lot of competition for... the more you have and the more interesting it is the better ^_^.

Pet's That Would Like An App


If you are really stuck on what to put in an app, you can use this survey as a guide ^^. Again, it's more convenient to have this posted on a petpage (nothing special needs to be added like coding or anything) because petpages are just easier to keep track of ^^

Question 1: What are your accounts? And which is your main?
Question 2: About how often are you on Neopets a week?
Question 3: What is your source of NP? Do you play games? RS? Contests?
Question 4: Why would you like to adopt this pet?
Question 5: Why would you be the best choice for this pet's new owner?
Question 6: What future plans do you have for this pet?

These are just basic questions though, so the more you elaborate on them, the better it will be for you. I will probably also neomail you back with any extra questions I may have.

I advise anyone who is curious about fostering and wants to know more about the arguements that they see on the neoboards, please read through both of these sites. I must say that I stand on the line between "rules vs insane rules" and I feel that none of my rules fall into the category of "insane"... so please don't send me any hate neomail saying that my rules are insane or too strict. If you have a legit reason for thinking that, then feel free to neomail me and I'll read over it and take it into consideration, but that does not mean that I will change my rules just because a few people don't want to make a petpage. Please respect both sides to the arguement and try not to start any fights.
