We've all been to Faerieland before but have you ever wondered what the Rainbow Fountain was there for? You may have even heard rumors that you can get your pet painted any color you want here. Let's step inside.

Upon entering, you spot a pretty waterfall with a beautiful faerie in the water below but she says her magic is all used up. OH NO!!! And thus the mystery begins. Is there any way at all to help restore her magic?

At around 10pm NST, September 15, 2004 as I was checking my neomail, I was confronted with a possible solution to the mystery. This is the rarest Faerie quest that there is. Can I possibly help her out?

I quickly ran to the Shop Wizard to check for a price. To my horror, I was then told I couldn't use the wizard. ACK!! I completely forgot about that!

I raced back to my neomail to send a message to a friend who is on late at night to see if he could check for me. While waiting for a reply, I sped over to the Trading Post to check there. Every last one there was listed at 150k and up with one exception. One person was asking 119k for theirs.
OH NO!!! It's UNBUYABLE??!!!", I gasped.

By this time, my friend had replied and told me what I had already guessed. There were none that were buyable!

I was left with no other choice than to try to get the one on the Trading Post. I made an offer on the lowest trade of 115k and a Har codestone.
That's at least 119k!", I thought to myself. "Surely, he'll accept!

By this time, it was getting very late and I needed to go to bed.
Please give me until tomorrow!", I begged the Fountain Faerie.
I WILL find you one, I promise!

The next morning when I awoke, I found an event that said the trade had been closed. CLOSED??!! I hurriedly sent off a neomail to the person but I received no response at all.
Now what am I supposed to do?? I PROMISED!!

I flew back to World to check my Quest status. She was still waiting patiently.
I'm trying my best to find you one! Please wait just a little bit longer!", I pleaded with her.

About this time, my friend sent me another Neomail. He reminded me of the Auction House and told me there was one up for auction for 120k.
Auctions? I'm HORRIBLE with Auctions! But it was my only other option unless I wanted to spend 150k or more on a cake.

So off to the Auction House I went. When I asked the Auction Genie for a Lime Chomby Cake, I was told that there was 1 up for auction for 120,200nps and the auction would end in approximately 6 hours.
6 HOURS!!??", I gasped.
I'll be back when it's much closer to the end of the auction," I told the Genie.

I went off and got my dailies done but I was so anxious I couldn't really concentrate on playing any games.
And so I waited until the Auction was down to 1 minute 30 seconds and placed a bid.

And then to my utter horror, my browser stopped responding.
NOT NOW!!!
This is the WORST possible time to crash on me.
I shut my browser down and hurriedly opened up a new one. Racing back to the Auction House, I found that the auction was closed but I was SUCCESSFUL!
YES!!", I cried. "I can fulfill my promise.

I then returned to World to complete my quest. Smiling broadly, I handed her a lovely Lime Chomby Cake. She was so happy that she told me to stop by the Rainbow Fountain for a surprise.

OOHHH! I LOVE surprises!

Returning to the Rainbow Fountain, I noticed that the waterfall had undergone a drastic change. It was now truly a Rainbow Fountain.

Remembering that there was an avatar that you can only get by using the Rainbow Fountain, I had adopted a buzz a month ago or so in the hopes that I may be able to get access to the Rainbow Fountain someday.

But what color should I paint him???

And then it hit me. I could choose any color that a buzz could be painted, but really, there was only 1 reasonable choice. After all, this is the RAINBOW fountain!

I decided to stop back by the Rainbow Fountain to thank her again and noticed that the waterfall had returned to normal. But now we know how to restore her magic! Mystery Solved. Case closed.
