Her green eyes flashed with a sort of confidence and intensity that could be found in Neopia's strongest warriors. As she looked around, blinking through the rain that poured modestly from the sky, she sighed and adverted her gaze upwards. Is that Tatsu?" a yellow aisha murmured to her friend in the Lost Desert marketplace. The zafara was sulking silently through, a technique she was good at, mumbling to the shopkeepers her desires of purchase. Her fur seemed a little darker, contrasting heavily with her eyes that seemed to suddenly glow. After she had secured her purchases in a small, brown bag attached to a belt around her hips, she ducked nimbly away, and was gone. Here's all of the neo-related art that Jade has done! She swore she'd never do this again. She swore she would never stroll down the violent path that her past had forced her to take.
A flash of lightning reflected in the spotted zafara's eyes; half of it was from the sky, half was created by the decision that she was about to make.
They had to be avenged. Her family needed her, now more than they had even before, when she had first been separated from her family. Just like then, it felt almost amoral to stand and do nothing, to attempt to continue the joyful and carefree lifestyle that she had grown accustomed to over the years. She gently felt the spot where her goggles rested on top of her violet-colored hair, and she pulled them down. There they rested in her gloved hands, and she stared at them.
They were a gift from her owner, Jade, about a year after she had returned home. They were orange with a rosey hue; Tatsu liked them because they reminded her of a sunset. From the day she got them, they had never left her sight.
The zafara sighed and carefully tucked the goggles into the pocket of her jacket. There was no need to get them muddied by the water, which would fade their color. Tatsuyumi bit her lip, a roll of thunder bursting through the air. She peered around and, after spotting the closest tree, climbed into it with a newfound speed and agility.
She had to find them. She had to save her family.
Aye," the other neopet replied, an elephante decked in traditional desert clothing. "She turned a little darker that day," she mused aloud. The aisha perked up all four of her ears.
And which day is that?" she asked.
The day her family was...was taken away from her," the elephante replied sadly. "It had already happened to her once, and to lose them a second time, perhaps with no hope of finding them..." She sighed. "It's too much for the girl. Tatsu feels that she must put it upon herself to right this wrong and go find them..." she paused for a moment, "or at least, make it right in her mind and try her best.
The sulking image of Tatsuyumi, far more grown-up and fierce than either had remembered, was burned into the aisha's memory. She sighed, looking around for the zafara. She thought she saw a shock of electric violet streak across the top of a building, but she couldn't be sure.
