Rain never came as quickly as it did that day, neither did your surprise. The cold forgotten cobblestone street was colder than usual that night, the silence of the dark shattered by the scattered droplets of rain. Did you believe in crying skies, tears shed from the gods? That night you wandered too far and stumbled upon the townhouse of a man -- a man too young to seem old. This is where our story begins and your journey ends. There is no turning from this street, for those who step close when the hour hand strikes take no steps after. Letum, they say, silence they speak. ------------------------- Hello and welcome to my application for Xeav. I do hope you enjoy some of the art I place here and there, and the hard work and effort I've put into this application n__n I actually stretched out the amount of time I put into his character just so it would be solid and natural in both role playing and in art. I also had the support of a few friends here and there and allowed them to put some insight on what needed to be tweaked and what was good. Overall the process of making the application itself was really fun :3 I really hope for the best and am putting the most effort I can into this, despite college... work... and other real world things. I just love the character I made for him so much and I really do hope I get chosen. Well, *crosses fingers* Let's hope let's hope! :3 (quote)*If you believe in yourself, I believe in you!* (end quote) I think I can I think I can I think I can . creation . Well, as they say Rome wasn't built in day (of course excluding slave labor *ahem*). So, neither was this character =w= I have a very deep seeded love for dark fantasy books, and mythologies of Greek and Nordic gods. The Greek classics, Oedipus, Medea, and so forth were books I read over and over while in high school. It was only natural for me to come up with a character related to that particular genre sooner or later :3 One of my favorites was Loki. The trickster as usually referred to in Greek mythology. However, I wanted something entirely original, so I created his son Letum. However, would this character be an overly powerful perfect man-god built on ruling the world? No ma'm. Xeav himself is a different character entirely. I wanted him to be unique. When I say unique, I mean way beyond normal standards of usual living.
Comically, as journals depict life the story you are about to read is an excerpt from the journal of Xeav Yager, a reaper who named his journal: Oh, mother... She was never the brightest of goddesses, in fact I wondered if there was any hint of wisdom in that woman at all. I remember hearing her run in circles for her hairbrush, and chatting for hours with Hera of the latest scandals. Goddesses despite being worshiped for their beauty and power are complete airheads. I never understood why women referred to themselves as goddesses. Perhaps this simple fact is the reason why things happened the way they did. I never knew who my father was, my mother always tossed me from one person to the other until one day she had enough. Apparently, Gods themselves don't make good fathers. I don't really blame them though. Seeing how goddesses were there would be no reason to stay near them for very long. When the divine being created them he created man in his image, so I'm guessing Gods lacked that two ounce of common sense. So, one day when I was small enough to cry but too young to fight she left me at a cave somewhere. Perhaps it was because I was starting to look just like my father. Either way, I was left like a ham sandwich at the mouth of a huge cave. Then, out came a large wolf with large teeth that I soon learned was Fenrir. A son of Loki, the infamous trouble-making god. I cried, of course, any child would. Fenrir however only laughed, and said he would never eat something so scrawny and so well... stinky. Yes, my mother was exceptionally neglectful of my well being. So, he took me in through this cave, deep to the place where he lived and taught me to live off of the wild. Flowers, trees, fresh fruit, every bit of color Olympus had to offer was sitting right there in the valley. It opened my eyes to how pathetic the Gods were, ruing over wars and goddesses when the world they lived in was so full of beauty. It was then I started to make clothes for myself. Colors of all kinds found in the valley. I learned to love everything, everything of course except the rain. It was always cold and wet, like slobber from the sky. Still I would sit inside and watch the rain from the cave, but I would never leave the cave. Well, it's no surprise that a guy like Fenrir has shady connections. I needed a purpose apparently, for if you didn't have a function in Olympus it wasn't respectable. So, I did an internship for Hades. I dressed in my brilliant colors, shining out of the dank crowd at work. Hades was... well... psychotic. Had a few screws loose he did, and it drove me insane. It scared me sometimes to watch my boss cackling over the toilet drain of souls that formed in the river of Styx. Charon was an okay guy though, despite him being a dead skeleton boat man he was easy to talk to. Always told me death was the business to be in as a god. People always die, souls never stop was what he would say. Of course, I learned that later on. Back then I was only concerned about doing what I had to, not doing what I wanted. So, I'll note my high school romance then? I'm sure you're interested. Well, during my internship I met a girl named Aphrodite. Oh, you know her, the Goddess of love? Well, Dite as I'll refer to her loved to cause trouble for everyone. Always matching up couples and breaking hearts. Despite being so beautiful she was never lucky enough to land a solid relationship. Luckily for her I was that unlucky one. The unfortunate happening began when I came to the cave one day and found her sitting at my doorstep. I asked her why she was there and she said she heard from all the goddesses that Hades got a new intern. I said that it was me and she smiled saying she heard I was good looking but in person she wasn't able to look me straight in the eye. That girl... It was like she had the perfect lines for love. Well, of course we spent everyday together after that. We looked great together, she loved the clothes that I made and I loved making her clothes. They all looked so great on her. Unfortunately, as with most relationships true colors only shine through till you're too deep in to run away. Dite said all the right things, for about the first two months and then disaster as I knew it came like a tornado. She started to drop by my cave while I was sleeping and ask me why I hadn't sent any messenger doves, and if there were any other girls at work. I mean really what type of women exactly do you expect me to meet in the underworld? She'd cry when I didn't apologize, and cry when I did apologize. She would yell when I said I didn't understand, and yell when I said I did. She would ask me to remember things that happened ages ago, and when I couldn't remember she'd say I didn't care. She was extremely jealous of everything that came in contact with me and wanted to spend every waking moment with me. I almost got burned by Hades for all the messenger birds flying around at work. She loved to send messages at the worst moment, and when I wouldn't answer she'd sent more and more and more. After another two months of none sense I'd had enough. I said it was over, and after she cried for what seemed like days she finally left. Of course, she wasn't through ruining me. Oh no, she had her plans that devil woman. Kick a god when he's down why don't you little miss Dite. I really did care about her, really. Of course, I preferred solace of a temperamental goddess any day and that ticked her off. She went straight to Hade's wife and gave her the smart idea of sending a scout to the human world. There he'd be sent to collect more souls for Hades and cut the life threads that hadn't been cut yet. Well, the devil told the wife, and the wife told the husband, until finally I was sent to the human world kicking and screaming. The human world, is a tough place for gods. As a rule we enter the world with limiters, objects that keep our godly powers at bay and keep the balance with the world. Then, we're given an allowance for living expenses. Depending on your status in Olympus the human money you get is either five cents or a million dollars. Zeus, Hera, and all those other big shots get a large sum. Lesser gods get less, and me being a demi god got even less. I was always strong as a kid, so they put lots of limiters on me. This restricted me to only dark magic releases and the use of the scythe that Hades gave me. In the human world it came disguised as a cat which I named Vereor. Other than Vereor I was dirt broke, my allowance passable and my commissions from reaping enough to just cover food. I was sure Aphrodite was laughing away then. That's why I never liked goddesses. They're airheads, gossip queens, and they had a sick sense of humor. Luckily, for me humans loved fashion.
