✄ short cuts make long delays
When the sun rose high above and the birds were happily chirping in their nests, the air felt perfect and so was the land that located beneath it. It was at that moment you recognised this familiar sight, you were home. It was a almost a year ago since you last left and things had quite been the same, while in contrast, you weren't. The sweet alluring smell of apple baked pie already had you starving, and you knew you had to take at least one bite to settle it. So, bidding your fellow mates farewell, you headed straight back to your hole and scurried inside for your delicious treat.
✄ there must be someone with intelligence in the party
Peregrin 'Pippin' Took was born in 2990 TA (1390 s.f.). He was raised by his parents, Paladin Took and Eglantine Banks. He was also the descendant of the Old Took, who was famous for living until the age of 130 years. Pippin had three older sisters, known as Pearl, Pimpernel and Pervinca, making him the youngest and the only son of the family. At the age of 44, Pippin succeeded his father's title of Thain, making him the 32nd Thain of the Shire. He was also the Counsellor of the North-kingdom, a title awarded by King Alessar.
Pippin was first cousin with Merry Brandybuck, hence making him his closest friend and partner-in-crime. Due to Pippin being the only son in the family, he usually partnered with Merry instead, as he could relate more to him than his numerous sisters but was still awfully close to his sisters regardless. Pippin's playful trait may derived from the stress his father often puts him through as training to be the future Thain, so he sought for responsibility-freedom by doing various shenanigans with Merry in the Shire.
✄ we may stand, if only on one leg, or at least be left still upon our knees
Finally, after all the heartwarming tears and joy from your family of welcoming you home, you settled onto the dining table. That was when your mother brought out the homemade pie from the oven and served it onto your plate. You sighed, it was nice to taste something that reminded you of your birthplace.
Oh! You've chosen lembas, the elvish waybread. You grabbed one of your remaining bread from your sack and unwrapped the leaf packaging. You took a bite out of it and it felt rather bland-tasting, but instantly you felt very filling, though of course it was not enough. So, you took another piece of lembas out of your bag and munched on it. Once you were done, you felt thirsty and you wanted a drink.
Which beverage would you choose?
Oh! You've chosen apple slices. You did not want to bother your mother as she probably had been busy earlier preparing all the food to welcome you home, hence you took some apple slices from the fruit tray. The slices were very crunchy and juicy, and you savoured every bite of it. While sipping on the juice from the fruits, you thought it was not enough and now you felt thirsty and you wanted a drink.
Which beverage would you choose?
Oh! You've chosen apple pie. After the previous one, you still felt somewhat peckish so you asked your mother whether there was another pie still. And luckily, your mother did made a few earlier, which she now gladly gave you another pan. The pie was sweet yet a bit savoury as your mother probably added her secret spices while baking it. You were thankful for her. While munching on the last slice, you felt thirsty and you wanted a drink.
Which beverage would you choose?
Oh! You've chosen mushroom soup. You asked your mother if you could have a bowl of your favourite childhood soup, which your mother allowed and happily insisted to make you one. So, your mother prepared the soup and settled it in front of you. You took one big spoonful of the creamy delight and your spirits were lifted immensely. Nothing can compare to your mother's homemade soup. Although, now you felt thirsty and you wanted a drink.
Which beverage would you choose?
Oh! You've chosen a glass of water, absolutely refreshing. You took big gulps of water, and within seconds your cup was empty. So you had rinsed your mouth and quenched your thirst, with the feeling of utterly bloated. You were now ready to head back outside, but right before that you put away your dishes and cleaned them.
Oh! You've chosen a mug of ale, straightly imported from the Green Dragon itself, or did you smuggled it? Regardless, you chugged down the entire mug and you felt totally full, and which you couldn't handle another bite of anything. Though, you were now ready to head back outside, but right before that you put away your dishes and cleaned them.
✄ we had one yes, but what about second breakfast?

✄ we hobbits ought to stick together, and we will
Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck was a fallohide and shared the same social class as his cousin. Merry later inherited the title, Master of Buckland from his father. Merry was much rational and calmer in contrast to Pippin. He was also considered as an older brother to his younger cousin, tended to him always. Merry was highly respected by the Rohirrim and had a strong bond between them.
Frodo Baggins, the legendary ringbearer, was a Fallohide. He resided with Bilbo Baggins in Bag End after his parents drowned during an incident in the Brandywine River. Before the Ring, Frodo was rather curious regarding the world and wishing to explore the land. Frodo was also incredibly close to Merry as he was his cousin and best friend since childhood. Pippin often looked up to Frodo as he viewed him as his very own mentor.
Samwise 'Sam' Gamgee was a fellow gardener to Frodo Baggins, and was a working class Harfoot. Sam was the only hobbit member in the fellowship that was not related to the other three, but still shared an equally tight bond. Sam had an entirely soft heart and was willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good, making him the noblest. He later on became the Mayor of the Shire and was the keeper of the Red Book of Westmarch before passing it to Elanor.
Fredegar 'Fatty' Bolger, was mostly known as Frodo's friend and one of the conspirators of Frodo's Ring. Fredegar was a huge foodie, and due to his eating habits, he had earned himself the nickname Fatty among his peers. Fredegar was rather modest and timid, like how he was afraid of leaving Crickhallow to face the nazgûls. Though he was also selfless and ready to help a friend in need.
Rose 'Rosie' Cotton, was a maiden who worked as a bartender in the Green Dragon. She had four brothers, which led her being the only daughter in the family. Rosie often played with the Gamgee children during her youth and was particularly fond of Sam, thus granting Pippin the opportunity to tease her. Although, Rosie loved spending time with Pippin as they were almost opposites.
Lotho Sackville-Baggins was a pompous lad and rivals to Frodo Baggins. Due to his parentage, he was not very well liked by his peers, except Frodo, but he constantly pushed him away as to maintain his parents' reputation. Regardless Frodo and his cousins were still willing to befriend him, even though Merry and Pippin had a knack of pranking Lotho. Deep down, Lotho himself knew he was grateful to have such friends by his side.
Faramir, son of Denethor, was a Steward of Gondor. He had a brother named Boromir and they were thick as thieves. Faramir was often shadowed due to Boromir's might, but he was different as he was the brains of the two. When Pippin was in Minas Tirith, he managed to save Faramir from his father's hysteric doings, which lead the both of them closer. After the war, Faramir became the Prince of Ithilien and ruled the land alongside his wife, Eowyn.
Beregond was a Soldier of Gondor. His motivation was derived from his love for Faramir as he deemed him a noble captain. During Pippin's visit at Minas Tirith, Beregond was assigned to assist him and train him to be a Guard of the Citadel. Pippin and Beregond's bond grew stronger every day as they both shared different views and exchanged promises. He later on served Faramir in Ithilien.
✄ here at last, on the shores of the sea...
The golden light started to dim as the fiery sun dipped into the horizon. Many creatures such as squirrels and nightingales all went back to their trees to prepare for settling in for the day. You pushed open your door and stepped outside into the breezy dusk before plopping down onto the soft grass beside your gate. The stars had risen and shone brightly, twinkling with cheer for you. You closed your eyes and smiled back.

✄ don't the great tales never end?
The only reason I did this for an already existing character is because I felt like Pippin's character was not fleshed out enough in the 6 books, and sometimes he felt very similar to Merry's character. And with Peter Jacksons adaption, majority only seem to view him as the Fool. Hence I wanted to change that by giving Pippin my own spin on how I want to write him. So, I hope you enjoyed reading this rendition. :)
