Welcome to Fittings, my personal character customisation site. I've put many outfits together, some of which I've never used or have since stopped using. Being a somewhat humble person, I have generously offered to show them off for the world to see. Prepare thine eyes!

Some of my favourite wearables; you can see their names, if you hover over them, try it!

I focus mainly on theme and palette, the ideal being a balance between both with minimal Neocash. Nonetheless, I'm always open to new challenges and combinations so here's to learning and experimentation!

Feel free to hit me up for a chat or link back to me. Thanks for visiting!

Disney-inspired Customs 1, 2

At one point, I considered cross-painting a Royalgirl Ruki or Elephante (on a beautifully fitting Indian RN/RW) and this was one of the customs I made for her, albeit my least favourite of all four. She is painted Purple here.

For me, it lacked originality in item usage (Possessed Eyes is a weak crutch of mine) and more importantly, theme because how many magic user characters are there? At least three.

I also didn't really like the default use of royal clothes but the hood and dress aren't separable and the accessories didn't stand out enough to warrant replacement.

Without the very clear fire magic theme, it would've gone into the Colour category for the matching purples and oranges. The Mansion Backgrounds are all quite well-done and I was excited to use the prettiest one of them all.

Not my best custom by far, colour-wise but I enjoy looking at it. I initially named him Snow Queen but I realised that set me up for a Frozen connotation and quickly ditched that idea, however fittingly fabulous the name was.

Snowflake and Flames, for all their simplicity, are really awesome wearables. It isn't often a NP item gets to be animated! Snowflake complimented this custom quite well, albeit it is the only real magic element here.

Can't say the same for the scarf, I was just too happy with the colour-for-colour match for the dress to remove it. It gets cold up on the mountains! I also finally used the Scenic Mountain Top Background though a snowier background would've done more.

But the real shame is the incompatibility of the snowy lower foregrounds so I wasn't able to try out combinations of the tree with the Snow Covered Fence, the Snow Laden Tree Stump and the Snowy Brook Foreground.

I was torn between this and a so-called safer version. Controversies aside, both look really nice to me and only subject unfamiliarity and the lab ray is stopping me from using this custom myself.

Alternate version of the Snow Sorceress, using a more conventional wig choice.

I used this (minus the foregrounds) on a former permie who had ambiguous electric superpowers. I loved the custom so much, I kept her for years just for the prettiness of it though her character left many things to be desired.

To take a critical eye to the past, I would say that I went overboard with the species-specifics. This outfit originally had Wocky Thief Boots (which can't be seen under the foregrounds so I removed it) and even now, the Mask doesn't quite fit as well as say, Sparkler Contacts might.

On a lesser note, the wig and dress also match purely because they were released as a set, which is a pet peeve of mine. Using prearranged sets that were intended to match isn't half as satisfying as finding two unrelated wearables that just happen to match.

Anyway, looking at it now, the custom is dangerously close to being a total mess of blues that clash rather than click and to some, it is a mess. But perhaps in this case, the chaos is perfect for the theme.

Juo has been on desk duty for years but is now reluctantly leaving the cubicle for proper guardian work over a rather important protégé.

One of my more casual customs, I focused particularly on what is, to me, Juo's trademark appearance: black wings (admittedly inspired by experiencing Supernatural from outside the fandom), fedora, shades, tie and rolled up sleeves (not depicted). His background also sets his grim self firmly into the storybook-esque setting of Lian.

My original custom used Black Alabriss Wings but... we don't talk about it or its multimillion price tag. When I came back from hiatus and started to polish off the n00bishness of my accounts, I discovered the ink wing wearables as appropriate, if not happy, substitutes.

We also don't talk about how Juo goes about wearing black stockings outside his white trousers...

*sigh* (return to reality?)

I'm not too fond of this one, it was a search for, rather than an outcome of inspiration. I was applying for a pet with a name I thought fitting for a crow, a concept not easily represented in wearables.

But the final result turned out alright. I first saw the Plague Doctor Robe in a Customisation Spotlight/Notable Pet directory on a Harry Potter-themed pet named Sev. The contacts and robe fit perfectly together.

Hats make Lenny heads look so smol and round so I left it on. I added the fence to help build an image of a crow on a fence and the archways for some framing. The background and and foreground also added to the overall mood but not in an integral way that I was happy with it.

I ended up withdrawing my app but I'd learnt a lot about my neo-self and it very indirectly led me to creating this page.

Now this is a very old custom. I quite liked Silver pets (my favourite colour scheme is blue, gray and white) and so I got one for myself, only to notice that the Scorchio's green eyes clashed horribly. This was probably the beginning of my colour-matching obsession.

A close friend generously gave me the contacts and when I paired them with the background and trousers, a lightbulb went off in my head and that was that. Before this custom, I just chose random affordable wearables I liked the sound and look of and that matched the character.

Since then, many awesome wearables have been released and I have amassed enough neopoints to buy most all of them. Curse those Black Alabriss Wings. My tastes and judgement have come a long way since and I hope that JS servers be willing, I'll learn even more in the years to come.

Lala has seen the worst of my abilities right to the present day. You'll notice the same strategies in each custom. I hated changing my pets, I didn't like taking the risks of failure in experimenting. My first dreamie was deliberately and cheaply achievable: Camouflage Kougra. Clever and natural-looking, it set the tropical scene for many cringe-y years to come.

But one qualm I had on Neo is the lack of a constellation colour. It should've been Starry, then Eventide. When I came back from a hiatus, I was about ready to quit for good and I was willing to be impulsive. I morphed Lala and made her my constellation tiger.

The dress represented constellations and the necklace, the evening. The hair, eye shadow and FG continued the new purple theme from the prior custom and the gate and BG set the mood. Nothing matches perfectly but I couldn't be happier.

Early attempts at colour-matching. (return to the present day?)

Lala's girly phase. (return to the present day?)

She was a jungle cat, why did she need a cloak or scarf??? (return to the present day?)

Sometimes, simplicity.

Other times, wearables just don't work.

Lian is my classic storybook pet. She began life as a timid, shy Royalgirl-Purple crosspaint but has since grown to be a crafty bookworm charged with the care of her father's Orchard.

She's essentially my guilty pleasure to dress up in sweet, pretty, cute, forest-y wearables and if any of the Neopoint book wearables were decent, I would use those as well.

I suppose this is an example of how nice non-thematic customs can look with some basic matching (the FG with the BG, the hat kinda with the gloves) for a pleasing aesthetic.

Seriously, though, there's no symbolism here, don't bother straining your eyes.

(return to present day?)

And I'm a hypocrite because I went a little crazy with wearable sets here, making for an unoriginal custom that was preferable to mismatched clothes.

Emery is my time traveller permie from a long line of timesmiths and I was thrilled to find that the Time Traveller Peophin clothes came with a nice cravat (vs Golden Cravat and scarves). He also has two watches, the little snoot!

I was less thrilled about the BG/FG choices here. What you see here is the Cover of Darkness foreground but I personally use a Rolling Fog (NC). The Cover FG leaves space that the Manor Room Crime Scene Foreground fills up. I'm still not too happy about it, all four items are very vague and easy to overuse.

Nonetheless, I think I succeeded in depicting a snobby upper class chap (monocle and beauty mark) who messed up time travel (smoke) and wound up out of time/place (empty manor).

A quick adoption that I don't intend to regret, Annchka is my astronaut, soaring to explore and study all of space. I was lucky enough to meet a generous user who let me morph their Aisha labbie to keep the Alien clothes.

Besides the necessary breathing gear, I gave Annchka a dress that seemed fitting for space adventures and kept the rest of the custom simple and focused on my favourite zones: the grounds.

Sky Full of Stars should honestly qualify as a background rather than a background item when you can see little else. Thankfully though, that mean that the cheap Moon and Stars Background blends in discreetly without any one noticing its, well, cheapness. A friend of mine also used Sky Full of Stars beautifully here.

Don't ask me why flowers grow in space. There's lots we don't know, alright?!

At one point, I considered cross-painting a Royalgirl Ruki or Elephante (on a beautifully fitting Indian RN/RW) and this was my favourite custom of the four I made for her. She is painted Starry here.

The main source of my pride is the matching greens on the Ruki's dress to the Potion and the Bushes. In hindsight, the colours aren't as harmonious as I initially perceived, particularly that of the eye shadow. The reds are also different, though less noticeably so. Still, I really like the combination of the jacket with gardening, depicting a hybrid theme of science and nature.

I also discovered how much the Lovely Heart Bushes (which I keeping reading as Lonely Heart Bushes) compliment the background I threw in for additional colour and theme. It made a very nice progression from blue to green. I may well use this again for a different pet in the future.

At one point, I considered cross-painting a Royalgirl Ruki or Elephante (on a beautifully fitting Indian RN/RW) and this was one of the four I made for her. She is painted Brown here.

Although I like the concept I chose here (a mechanical engineer), I found the fact that the RG Ruki clothes weren't all that integral and I could've easily swapped her out entirely for a different pet.

The clutter of the Research Desk Foreground also irritates me to no end for the eyesore it creates. There's no focal point or leading lines. One could argue that this could represent a scatterbrained personality but ehhh.

I did, however, really like using a sparkler as a welding rod though she should probably be wearing more than just Brass Gear Goggles as protection. I initially used Bigsby Shadingtons Wrench, which also worked just as well.

At one point, I considered cross-painting a Royalgirl Ruki or Elephante (on a beautifully fitting Indian RN/RW) and this was one of the four customs I made for her. She is painted Desert here.

This would be my questionable attempt at making a cultural-themed Neopet. I especially wanted her to be clearly ethnic (see Engineer) though I have a feeling I wound up being more politically incorrect instead.

In any case though, I was thrilled to find how well the Lost Desert Mansion Background worked with a Cornucopia Foreground and the flyswatter made it even better. This still has the same problem of defaulting to the PB clothes though.

This is Priya who is ultimately my most sentimental pet. She tends to lack a steady, developed character other than (quiet, patient) at any given time but she will never stop being beautiful to me.

Perhaps the one wearable that has remained constant on Priya since I first put it on is her Ixi Forest Cape (and Hood). At the time, this was one of TWO wearable sets for Ixis because I'd joined in 2008, a year after pet conversion. Priya has been my hood-and-cloak pet ever since.

At the time I made this specific custom, both the BG and FG were new (and expensive, I might add) and much nicer than existing BG/FGs. I wanted SOME one to wear them and their pretty and calming nature pointed to Priya as the model. That the leaves matched her cape was a beautiful bonus.

Now, Dae is a more vibrant and unusual custom of mine that I made while applying for her. I didn't actually know what sort of pet or character she would be, I only knew that I wanted her to keep.

I had initially pictured her as an illiterate thief-magician but Dae wound up being a sharp-witted worldcrosser, stuck in our realm after travelling between dimensions. Truthfully, this isn't at all depicted in her custom but I like to think that her bright, flow-y clothes and her mask stem from eccentricity you might expect from some one not of this world.

The pinks of the costume, mask, background and mirror are all different but close enough to click amazingly while her jelly-belly, the poncho and the feathers in the mask provide a lovely blue sheen as a secondary colour. I also doubled up on ink frames for a dark and visually interesting border.

Very simple, straightforward custom based on a passing thought that Water pets would make great surfers. Sadly, however, there aren't many wearables that resemble swimwear. I had to use paint brush clothing for this version as well as the Zafara alt.

This look isn't quite as satisfactory as the Lutari surfer for the eye-catching yellow "towel" but nonetheless works enough to mention here. I quite like the Water Zafara's hair tuft too, it's a very fitting design for a surfer character.

I don't get invited to parties so I don't actually know if 'black shirt and tutu' is a socially acceptable dress code for a teen party but it looks cool and matches the gorgeous Pink Lenny colour scheme.

More Neocash items than usual and they're both quite central to the look but you could easily substitute in Special Event Foreground for the crowd and any number of wigs (Cute Pink Wig and Cute Dark Wig work quite well) for the hair.

One happy discovery was how the Shenkuu Mansion Background matched the Streamers Garland and even parts of the Music Festival Crowd Foreground, adding some light-and-shadow amidst the busy colours.

This is... um, well, yeah.

Professor Sin is one of my newer pets. A descendant of Lord Emerythe, she's a Professor (two PhDs in Chronology) currently researching the time-space continuum to find the essence of existence.

Her look was inspired by many different things, primarily one middle school teacher with a head of dark curls, always dressed in gorgeous ruffly skirts. It was very Trelawney-esque with the dignity and confidence of academia: the eccentric, brilliant and absent-minded professor.

I tried many different customs to this aim and this was my favourite, an Island-Tyrannian cross-paint accentuated by a fiery red skirt and the Moltaran backdrop.

A custom initially branching off from the many customs I generated for Sinterka, I found myself quite attached to this Lenny's posture and presentability, not unlike that of an orchestral conductor. You could probably emphasise this by switching out the Stack of Tax Return Forms for a staff or wand or stick. I kept it alongside the warm fiery background to keep it cosy and warm, more like a private poetry recital.

Inspired by my initial customs for Sinterka, this smartly-dressed aviator is, in my mind, a governess of sorts, like a mildly dangerous, steampunk Mary Poppins combined with Amelia Earheart. Crazy adventures await!

The key combos here are the Lutari Archeologist wearables set and the Lutari Aviator Cap together with the Charred Steam Wings. The Black Eye Shadow and Classic Beauty Mark (only 25NC!) help seal the Pirate Lutari's look of confidence. The background is a more lackluster choice that simply didn't clash or distract.

For an aviator who doesn't need jetpack wings, check out this Eyrie alt.

An alternate aviator who is propelled by kinetic energy, rather than steam. The bright scarf is a bit out-of-place without anything to match with but I quite like how it brings the whole look and red colours together.

A much less visually coherent custom, this Malevolent actor/directory is more a combination of character stereotypes than a fashion icon.

Now your Aunt Flo (or Uncl Joe) can be a Neopet too!

Other possible handhelds include Autumn Guitar and Summer Fun Water Bottle.
