Introduction

Don't stop, make a dream...
The wind ruffles your hair as you walk through a grassy field at night. The grass tickles your legs, and you stop to look up at the stars. Suddenly, you hear a voice, a serene female voice to be exact. They're exceptionally beautiful tonight, aren't they? As the voice speaks, you jump, startled. You look to your side to discover an navy-colored wolf sitting next to you.
Oh, did I startle you? The wolf smiles sheepishly. I've forgotten that most humans are afraid of us wolves. I don't see too many of your kind around here. She sighs and shakes her head. Just because we're carnivores doesn't mean we'll attack you.
The wolf suddenly takes a defensive stance and growls, as if realizing where you both were at the moment. What are you doing here, anyway, human? This is the White Winter Pack's territory! This is Shoala!
You take a step back away from her. "I-I'm just passing through," You stammer. "My name's guest, I didn't even know there was a pack of wolves here! I'm just on my way home. Please don't eat me." Your voice cracks at the end of your last sentence.
Eat you? The wolf relaxes and barks a hearty laugh. I'm not going to eat you. I thought you were a hunter or something. We've been having a lot of trouble with them lately.
She growls for a moment and then smiles at you. Would you like me to lead you out? If you're caught alone by any of the other wolves, they might not listen to you when you say you're just passing through, even though I am the alpha female.
You narrow your eyes at her skeptically. "Wh-why the heck should I? You're a wolf! How do I know you're not just leading me to your buddies so you can all take me down?"
She huffs a big sigh and looks at you. Fine, then. Go alone, don't let me lead you away from the pack's territory. You'll die no matter what so just go. She smirks at this, and you stiffen.
Al-alright, you can lead the way..." You give in and sigh.
I know you'd see it my way. The wolf smiles and motions for you to follow her. By the way, my name's Maya. Since we're gonna be walking together for a little while I'll tell you about myself.
You frown. "What? When did you decide-" You start to object but Maya had already started speaking. You sigh and walk alongside the wolf reluctantly, listening to every word she has to say.

Other// Maya is what's called an Esper wolf (which by the way are MY IDEA, do NOT copy them -_-'), a wolf with ESP, or psychic abilities. Esper wolves are capable of the same abilities that human Espers are capable of, with a few extra powers. Maya has all the abilities of a normal Esper wolf, but she also has the ability to see into the future at random (It is her unique Esper wolf power, she is the only Esper wolf that has it. However, this does NOT MEAN that she is the only wolf that can have visions! Just the only ESPER wolf!). The visions do not come to her by her own choice; she does not know when she will get them or when the events in them will happen. This fact frequently frustrates her, as she wishes to protect her friends in her new pack as well as she can. The events in her visions are always bad things, so she usually tries to stop them from happening. Maya has never, not even once, had a vision of something good.
Vision Status// Extremely infrequent; peaceful.

Her Traumatic, Twisted Tale
The past is something that I'd wish to forget, in all honesty... You know how that saying goes, the one that tells you to put your past behind you and move on, right? But since you asked, I feel obligated to tell you... But be warned, my life was not always as decent as I have it now...
-------------
Ah, sweet memories... The first thing I remember is seeing the rolling green hills of my birthplace, Northern Tirana. My mother, Mitaki, was a beautiful female wolf. And, wouldn't you know it- She happened to be the alpha female of the pack I was born into. My father... He was hardly around, so I barely remember him. He was incredibly muscular though, and looked a lot like me. I believe his name was Ruutu.

Our pack resided in a field covered in several hills, not far from the local village. We were always told never to go near the village, especially during the hunting season. All of us obeyed most of the time, but there was always some curious little wolf pup that would wander too close to the village... Said wolf pup would never be seen again.
So, because of that fact, I was especially cautious of where I wandered off to. Even if I wasn't captured by a human, if they so much as saw me, they might follow me to the rest of the pack, so I didn't really go that far when I left.
I wasn't allowed to leave my mother's side until I was about 2 months old. When I left her, I explored around, meeting all of the pups that had been born at around the same time I was. That was also the day that I met my best friend, a chocolate-colored wolf pup named Chisu.
Chisu's ears, paws, and tail were tipped with pure white, and he had a tuft of fur that hung down over his left eye (which I thought made him look very handsome when he grew up... Heh.). He was an incredibly kind male wolf, and he was born of one of the higher-ranking wolves, like me, but not as high. Although, this did mean that we were able to hang out a lot. Chisu was always there for me, and we were as close as siblings. I loved him like he was my own brother, even though he wasn't.
Anyway, the time came for us to go on our first hunting trip, about a month after we met. We were to hunt with the adults in our pack, as were the rest of the pups. I and Chisu did fairly well, we used teamwork to catch an elk alone, with no help from any of the adults (which surprised them to no end)! We were allowed to share it with each other, and we ate most of it.
This cycle repeated itself for several weeks, maybe even months. I don't remember completely how long it went on. Anyway, after a while of doing that, we noticed that the elk were getting more scarce, as were other animals that served as our prey. We were forced to share our catches with everyone else in our pack, and slowly but surely, some of the wolves died.
That was what began an era of panic and frustration for my and Chisu's families. But if they had known what was to come as I did (and Chisu did as well, since I told him first), they would have realized that the lack of prey was only the least of their worries. That was the first time I experienced one of my Esper visions.
Mama," I cried to my mother. "I have to-
Not now, Maya," She interrupted me. I stood there for a moment, appalled, but then she turned and looked me in the eye. "We're discussing important business right now.
I growled at her, and she barked back. I recoiled and reported to Chisu what had happened.
He frowned. "Not good... Let's try my parents! I'm sure they'll listen!" With that, he ran off toward his father. His predictions were wrong, though. His father did the same thing that my mother had.
This is never gonna work... They'll never listen..." I whimpered.
At that precise moment, it was as if the whole world had come to a grinding halt. The sky turned black with rainclouds, and precipitation poured from aforementioned rainclouds wettening the ground and in the process, us as well. Atop the hill closest to our pack's home stood ten different shadowy silhouettes- all of them human.
I gasped. "W-We're too late! It's already starting!" I ran to my mother, jumped on her back and pointed in the direction of the humans. "Mama! That's what I was trying to tell you! There's hunters here, they're going to kill us all!"
What?! I... Oh, Maya, I'm so sorry... This is all my fault, I should've listened to you..." My mother's words strung together frantically.
No, no, Mama, it's not your fault!" I assured her and climbed off of her back and ran to Chisu. "Just evacuate the pack!" I called back to her, now running alongside Chisu at high speed.
Maya, don't-" She yelled after me, but I had already made my decision- Like Chisu, I was going to protect the pack as best I could.
As we ran, the storm grew worse. Suddenly, as if appearing out of thin air, a human stood in front of me holding a pocket knife and sneering evilly. My tail shrunk between my legs and I whimpered. Chisu narrowed his eyes at the human and growled protectively, but I licked him gently to show him that he shouldn't, as he quite possibly could be killed.
That was when he came. Him, Ruutu, my own father. He jumped over us and expertly clawed at the human viciously. "You two, go, now! You need to get away, keep the pack alive!" He snarled to us between his quick breathing. The human had been knocked over and hit his head on the ground hard, and his eyes closed, and he was evidently dead.
But what about Mama?!" I exclaimed, invisible tears in my eyes. The rain made them impossible to see.
She's... she's already..." He looked away and frowned, and I understood what he meant. My mother, the alpha female, the one who's always loved me, was dead.
What?! But..." I choked, my eyes wide.
I'm so sorry, Maya..." Chisu consoled me, nuzzling me softly.
Your parents are dead too," Ruutu snarled between his teeth.
They are?! But..." Chisu looked down at his paws and clamped his eyes shut. Now it was my turn to comfort him. I couldn't tell if he was crying or not, but he was definitely thoroughly shaken. I nuzzled him, letting out a soft whimper.
You two, get out NOW!" My father's ears perked up, and he glanced behind him, growling. "Quickly, or you might not be able to escape! Leave this place as fast as you-" His words and breath were cut off as an arrow struck him in the neck. He fell to the ground, paralyzed, and two hunters started sprinting toward him to finish the job.
DADDY!" I cried, and it wasn't until then that I realized I had never really said that word before.
Maya, we have to go," Chisu nuzzled me urgently, then started to push me away from the scene. I was standing there, my mouth gaping and my eyes wide. Finally I regained enough feeling in my legs to run away into the shrubs with Chisu.
We worked together to dig a small burrow in the ground, big enough to conceal us beneath the bushes for a while. We huddled close to each other; I was sobbing mournfully into Chisu's fur while he held me to his chest, keeping an eye out for any more hunters. The last of the group that took the others' lives had left about three hours ago, but he wanted to be safe nonetheless.

Friends and Foes
Misty// Misty... is now my pup... She became really attached to me over the time since we first met and now she decided to let me adopt her as my pup. I'm so happy... I... I don't know what to say to her except thank you. She may be a little annoying at times, but still... |
|
//Chisu I can't hide my feelings anymore... I love Chisu. I always have, and I know he loves me back... It's such a nice feeling, you know? To be loved... that's all I ever wanted was a family, and now I have it... I pray every night that we will always be together, and that our family will always be one. |
