Note: I am using the format LEVEL:BLOCK (same as used in the top left corner of the game screen)
1:1 refers to the first block in the courtyard.
2:1 refers to the first block in the Imperial guard Dojo.
So 3:5 refers to the last block in the Emperor's Grand Hall.

Wearables
Clicking the item image opens the shop wizard or trading post in a new w1ndow.(why it displays "-blocked-" when i write the word "window" properly i'll never know)

White Top Chop Robe
The white robes and trousers are obtained after submitting your first score in the game ( No Longer Available from the game)
White Top Chop Trousers
White Belt Obtained by submitting a score after smashing the 1st block on level 2 (completing 2:1)Your score doesn't matter ( No Longer Available from the game )
Green Belt Obtained by submitting a score after smashing the 1st block on level 3 (completing 3:1)Your score doesn't matter ( No Longer Available from the game )
Red Belt Obtained by submitting a score after getting 3 perfect hits in a row ("Excellent hit! you have the reflexes of a biyako!") on the last 3 blocks of level 3 (3:3 3:4 3:5). This unlocks the emperor although you do not have to smash the block in front of the emperor to get the belt and your final score doesn't matter. ( No Longer Available from the game )
Black Belt JN claims it is/was?Randomly awarded when playing Top Chop" although I have yet to see a pet wearing it.
Black Top Chop Robe

Scoring

Slider = Thin grey bar that you aim with
Target = Green area
Center of Target = Thin White line

(See diagram below for illustration)

Scoring works like this:

Time remaining + Bonus + How close the slider is to the center of the target.

If you miss the target on the first 2 levels the score is between approximately 88 (slider very far from the target) and 150 (slider very close to the target) + time remaining.

Note: If you are on level 3 (Emperor's Grand Hall) the slider can be much further away from the target when you miss than the first 2 levels. The minimum score on level 3 is approximately 25 (slider opposite end to the target) + Time remaining on the clock.

If you hit the green of the target the score will be between 151 (slider very close to missing) and 160 (slider very close to a white area) + time remaining on the clock.

If you get a perfect hit your score will be between approximately 161 (slider close to not getting a perfect hit) to 165 (slider dead center of target) + 20 point bonus + time remaining on the clock.

The score is the same regardless of which level you are on so if you just want 1000np or you need a score for Daily Dare/Games Master Challenge it is easier to start from the beginning

This would score around 90 + Time remaining

Bonuses

Bonuses are awarded whenever you acheive three perfect hits ("Reflexes of a biyako") they do not have to be in a row. You get the bonus on the continue screen after your 3rd perfect hit. When you want to use the bonus you have to click on it (bottom right corner of game screen).

Note: You can only store 1 bonus at a time, if you collect two bonuses you must choose 1 to discard
(Thanks caminando for adding this)

I wasn't going to put these here since they are available on the game instructions...
However...you can't view the instructions if you are in the middle of a game so here is a screenshot of the instructions page on bonuses...I don't think it needs any further explanation.

Frequently Asked Questions and other things

Q: I smashed the 3rd block on the 3rd level but when I started again it didn't save/unlock and I had to start from the 2nd block.
A: This is normal. The game does not save the last 3 blocks of level 3. This makes the game more challenging.
Q: Why are Black Belts available on the shop wizard if nobody has them?
A: Initially TNT gave the Top Chop Black Belt the same as an already existing "black belt" which is a non-wearable battledome item unrelated to the game.
TNT has since renamed the battledome item as Fancy Black Belt to avoid confusion.
Q: My game is glitched. The slider does not move regularly, it speeds up/slows down/jerks.
A: This is part of the game (it makes it challenging). It is not a glitch.
Q: Can I get more than one of each item?
A: The game only awards one of each wearable item. The only way you can get another one is by buying one from another neopian.
Q: Are there any (game code) cheats for Top Chop?
A: (No) Nobody has found any game code cheats yet. If you find one please Let Me Know

    Strategies

For the second level (Imperial Guard Dojo) it is best to either chop the block in the first 2 seconds or wait a bit. A moffit jumps across the block from 27 seconds until 24. Again from 17-14, and from 7-4. When the moffit is on the block you are unable to take a shot and the message "Don't hit the moffit!" pops up if you hit spacebar. Don't worry you don't get game over if you try and hit the petpetpet.
    (thanks pyong_foxcat23 for this strategy)

For the last level (Emperor's Grand Hall) the target moves as well as the slider. You are more likely to hit the target if you wait until the target is at the top or the bottom. This is for two reasons. Firstly the target effectively becomes twice as big (see screenshot) since the slider goes past it twice in quick succession. Secondly the target is closer to being still since it is changing directions.

Please Neomail me if you have any information to add, if you've tested any of the methods above or if you have any questions. This is very much a work in progress and it's my first attempt at a petpage...I am too lazy to make it colourful.
