Well, it is February in Neopia...Perhi wondered distinctly, while walking to Fairyland at six in the fairy forsaken morning. It was a typical Neopia morning in Fairyland, clouds unbearably spanned the sky, causing the terrain to be encased, at this time of day Fairyland was completely concealed in a shadowy grey, the air filled with an overwhelming thick murkiness, it smelled of sweet nectar and even so it was somehow bittersweet at this particular time of day, the air was quick in enveloping Perhi's transparent flesh in a mystical yet eerie way, causing her to shiver her way up to the castle. One would scarcely recognize this beautiful land of fairy folk, it is almost as if all the life, happiness was sucked right out of it for a few hours in the morning, until the sun would eventually rise and completely reveal the land as it is more commonly known. Perhi wondered if she was the only Neopian to know Fairyland as it is right now. Perhi then muttered silently under her breath "A jacket… why do I always forget to put it on?" The cold of the morning was no friend to Perhi.
Of course, the answer to her question was surprisingly simple, she did not want to conceal her transparent nature, she knew she was different from other Aishas, she revealed in this fact and wanted all of Neopia to see into her very soul, for she was not ashamed of her existence and even if she was not certain whether she was indeed alive or deceased, one thing was certain she was there for a purpose and had an important role to play in Neopia. The cold would have to suffice in Perhi's perspective, she was strong willed and determined to embrace any challenge, even if it meant she would have to fight a soon to be assured flu from her poor attention to climate.
Perhi immediately put on her aviators when she entered the castle to conceal her bloodshot eyes from the blinding light of the fairy folk. She picked up an energy drink from a fairy vending machine to hopefully wake herself up and oddly warm herself up, she was strangely addicted to carbonated drinks, her excuse was the need for energy and warmth, but really, she just enjoyed the bubbles. This would simply have to suffice as she waited for Adverren to finally arrive, he was always so punctually late. Perhi was handed by a passing fairy the Neopian newsletter and sat down at a nearby bench to drink and read about the devastating current events in Neopia. Perhi then finally noticed Adverren sitting on the other side of the bench, wearing his shades too and holding his head in his hands while drinking his coffee. When Perhi sat down he looked up and asked, "Have you heard about the latest story?" Perhi flinched, "Not so loud, what happened?" Adverren was the prime detective at Neopia and worked for the Fairy Queen Fyora herself, he investigated strange cases that seemed to plague Neopia of late in devastating numbers. Adverren chuckled lightly, "Just another strange case… " Perhi quickly scanned the paper, and was forced to do a double take before reading the article. "What in fairy's name... this is not the typical case to appear on an article one would see in a Neopia newsletter. Look at this, Adverren..." Perhi stuttered as she turned the paper to where they could both see it. Adverren looked at it and lowered his shades, his eyes appeared to be sad and held little surprise. "I have already discussed the case with Fairy Queen Fyora." Perhi read on: "Neopian Brad mysteriously found missing on the morning of February 20, 2018. His friend Stanley tried to find him, only to discover that he was nowhere to be found in all of Neopia. Speculation thus far is that the missing Neopian was abducted by an unknown entity." Adverren makes eye contact with Perhi "We are going to have to work even harder today with a new case added to our increasing bundle…" Adverren adds, "It makes me uncomfortable...that activity is picking up so quickly…" Perhi looks at her energy drink for a few seconds before looking up at Adverren and saying, "I know you can solve these cases, I have complete faith in you, you are too smart to doubt yourself." Adverren laughs silently, "If only I had the confidence you have in me in myself, let's promise to do our best to make Neopia a safer place together Perhi for all the Neopians out there." Perhi smiled with tears in her eyes and could only manage to nod enthusiastically. The truth was she was in love with Adverren from the moment they met, his charismatic nature to fight for the sake of justice, asking nothing in return, possessing a truly kind and giving heart were all it took to win her translucent heart. He saw her from within not just literally, but figuratively as well, he saw her as she was inside her very core, not a strange and frightening being, but a warm and lovely soul, a Neopian who only ever wanted to be accepted in Neopia. He was the first Neopian to accept her and not shy away from her and Perhi has been by his side ever since. That was some time ago now…
Perhi was not always this happy and spirited, this proud of who she was, this change in her was the result of Adverren. The day she met him or more specifically the night, it was coincidentally one of the worst times in her life, she does not really remember going to the deserted fair grounds that day, but somehow, she wandered in there, her clothes and shoes drenched in mud. Perhi figures now thinking back, she must have stumbled in there, it was not uncommon for her to wander Neopia endlessly and aimlessly in the days before Adverren. She felt alienated from Neopia in those times, everyone shunned her existence and she was left to travel purposelessly in hopes of finding a way to change herself, to find out the meaning behind her transparency and ultimately to find purpose. She lay in one of the abandoned park rides and could not move much of her body at all. Sleep paralysis was a common occurrence for Perhi, this arises when the mind is conscious but the body is still asleep, and vision and hearing are often actively working in this state. It feels as if one is awake when they really are still asleep. Perhi sometimes has frightening experiences in this state, and especially when in unfamiliar surroundings. She could feel eyes watching her that night. Little did she know Adverren was at the time investigating the fair grounds for clues on his latest case, when he stumbled upon Perhi. Perhi started panicking and screaming, realizing she could not move. Perhi started to hear a voice, however, the fair grounds were so dark at night she could not see where it came from and from what, it was so faint she thought she imagined it. Eventually the voice became clear, it told her that it wanted to help her. Perhi was uncertain of what to expect and stared at the darkness in sheer terror, beginning to hyperventilate. Eventually she felt she was lifted and carried out, in the light of the moon she could finally see who the voice had come from. A chocolate draik dressed in the attire of a detective, he saw her staring at him and only smiled warmly down at her. He seemed to glow in the moonlight and all worry, fear had soon departed Perhi. She felt at ease, she could see in his eyes that he really wanted to help her. After that night, Adverren had been actively involving Perhi in his investigations and helping her in search for the answers behind her transparency. Adverren worked hard for Perhi to help get her in a positive state of mind. In their pursuits together, Perhi gradually fell in love with him, he helped heal her wounded heart. Adverren and Perhi have been inseparable ever since.
Adverren started at Perhi as she looked to be in deep thought and appeared to be thinking of something good as her eyes sparkled with joy. Adverren reached out and hugged Perhi telling her "You should smile this way always." Perhi glanced up at Adverren and lay her head on his should whispering "Only when I am with you." Perhi knew she had found her purpose, she was happy to journey with Adverren and to help other Neopians who experience unfortunate events. Neopia was her home just as it was anyone else's and she wanted to spread that same positivity that Adverren gave her to the rest of Neopia. One case at a time, one day at a time, they would make Neopia a better place for everyone.css art
