Before You Read
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

Hello, guest, and welcome to Phinckao's petpage. ^-^ I took a lot of time on this petpage in particular, so I hope you read and enjoy it. Anyway, yeah, I know there are some quote marks missing. It's because Neo doesn't allow quotes after the 'br' code. I hope this doesn't make things difficult to read.

Story
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

Worker508, that was his name. The orange Grundo sighed and wiped some sweat from his forehead. It was so hot in the Virtupets Spacestation. The sun was always beating down against the metal plates of the space station, causing it to heat up through out the day. By what was known as nightfall, Neopia was in the path of the space station and the sun, so everything would cool down before it all started again. Not as if it mattered much. The Grundo servants of Dr. Frank Sloth always seemed to be at work.

Worker508 had been in the service of Sloth ever since the doctor had taken over Kreludor. Everyone Worker508 knew had been taken in to work for him against their will. He and every Grundo working in his sector were miserable. They worked day and night, with small four hour breaks in between shifts. The four hours were used for eating and sleeping since there weren't any other breaks during the day.

Not only was it miserable and hard, but it was boring. Worker508 had been put in the sector with mainly older Grundos. All of them were used to their work and very afraid or Sloth, so they never talked. Worker508 had run into one of his old friends a while ago, but he hadn't seen him for quite some time and they weren't in the same sector.

He had no company.

Not yet, anyway. Worker508 was ordered into the organizing of metal scraps department. He sorted broken or dysfunctional pieces for Sloth clones into different bins. Every so often, though, he found a peculiar piece and stashed it away in the worker cabin he slept in on his breaks. Nobody else had found his secret metal stash.

Worker508 had plans for those scraps. When Sloth attacked Neopia every so often, he took a few of his Grundo servants with him. Word had reached Worker508's ears of "pets". He had heard that these pets were a happy sort and most of them had owners and lived good lives where they had a sense of freewill. He sighed again, what it would be like to be a pet. But that wasn't what intrigued him. He had heard that these pets were also friendly.

Friendly. It was a word not very familiar to most of Sloth's servants. Worker508 had always wanted a friend to stick by his side since he had been working. One of the pets he had heard of especially sparked his interest. The Ixi. It had always seemed to be the most playful pet. He had seen several pictures of them around the higher ranked servant's quarters. He himself had a picture of one with his metal stash. He had stolen it from the garbage bin near his sleeping quarters.

Worker508 could analyze a lot from just one picture. He had even drawn up blueprints for his friend that he planned on building.

He would start working next break he got.

***

It was several breaks later and Worker508 was finishing up his friend. He secured a bolt at the base of one of the hooves after making sure all of the wires had been plugged in right. He had followed his blueprints just right and everything was going perfect.

Worker508 was surprised he could get the right parts he had needed for his friend. Usually there were more workers in the wire department, but he had sneaked past them all and snagged the parts he needed. He rubbed one of his orange hands across the glass plating covering the area where one of the bright red eyes was, a faint smile on his lips. Now he just needed to get this robotic Ixi down to the electricity room.

All the Ixi needed was a small kick start, and then it could run on solar energy that it stored through out the day. He slung the Ixi over one of his small shoulders and set off. An hour was all he needed.

***

Worker508 set the body of the robotic Ixi down near the electricity generator. His eyes darted around the room quickly before he spotted the wires he needed. The orange Grundo ran to the side of the generator and grabbed two long, blue wires. He hooked them up to two plugs in the generator's side compartment and stumbled back over to the Ixi. Worker508 quickly clipped small metal clips on the end of each wire to the Ixi's horns before going over to a large lever. He leaned down on the lever as hard as he could with his small body until it nudged down all the way.

The generator made a 'whirring' noise for a few seconds before Worker508 could see the wires glowing a bright yellow color. The electricity raced through them and around the Ixi's horns to its hooves. The generator settled down after Worker508 shoved the lever back in its normal position. He wandered back over to the robotic Ixi and sat down on the cold metal floor next to it. His antenna ears quivered with anticipation when he saw its body shudder. There was a soft hissing sound that Worker508 recognized as speakers that he had put in the metallic jaw plates of the Ixi.

The Ixi heaved itself to its hooves. Its cold-looking eyes brightened and it shook itself, as a real Ixi would do to free dust from its fur. Worker508 knew that, soon enough, the personality chip would kick in. He had designed this Ixi after his childhood friend. The Ixi would have a male personality, but act somewhat like a child. He had decided on what to call the Ixi already. Worker508 was going to give him his old name. Phinckao.

Phinckao looked around the room curiously, metallic green and black ears swiveling to hear everything around Worker508 and himself.

Hello, Phinckao," Worker508 greeted with a smile, giving the words time to sink in.

Phinckao turned his long black neck so he could get a better look at the creature that had spoken to him. His eyes scanned the orange thing. Target analyzed: orange Grundo. Threat: no.

The speakers in Phinckao's head crackled again, "Hello. Who are you?" Already, the artificial intelligence was starting up. Worker508 was incredibly pleased that his project seemed to be a success.

Ah, yes. How rude of me to not introduce myself. I am Worker508, Phinckao. We are in the Virtupets Spacestation orbiting Neopia," Worker508 answered softly. He knew that Phinckao would understand every single one of his words. The Ixi would even understand their location because Worker508 had programmed a map of Neopia into the robot.

Pleased to meet you, Worker508," Phinckao made a small dip of his head as greeting, "I am Phinckao the Ixi." His small, blue tipped tail wiggled as he spoke. The robot was obviously pleased with his ability to speak.

Worker508's grin grew even bigger, but he spun around as the door to the electricity room screeched open. He herded Phinckao behind him, trying to hide the Ixi behind his orange body.

Who's down here? I demand you to show yourself!" said a loud, familiar voice. Worker508's yellow eyes widened in fright. Sloth.

The Grundo turned around and patted Phinckao on the head gently, "You stay here," He whispered. The Ixi nodded and remained still and silent as Worker508 walked off to meet Dr. Sloth.

Over here, sir!" Worker508 called. The green head of the person he feared most turned in his direction.

What are you doing down here, worker?" Sloth demanded, eyes narrowing impatiently.

Worker508 looked at his feet, putting his arms behind his back and tried to look embarrassed, "Sorry, sir. I'm new here and I got lost...I couldn't get proper directions to the worker's quarters," he mumbled, trying to not meet Sloth's cold gaze.

Sloth had walked over and bent down, grabbing Worker508 by the wrist, "You're coming with me, then, worker." Sloth growled, but froze when he heard the sound of machinery starting up.

He turned around to see a fierce looking robot staring at him. Two of the robot's metal chest plates had moved apart to reveal a deadly laser.

Leave the Creator alone," Phinckao said, his speaker's tone echoing his angered mood.

Sloth smirked and looked from Phinckao to Worker508, "Did you make this robot, worker?" Sloth asked, but walked over to Phinckao before receiving Worker508's answer.

I could use this robot in my army," the doctor said, chuckling to himself. There was a 'fzzing' sound as Phinckao fired his laser.

That was a warning shot. Step away from the Creator," Phinckao demanded; his voice a feral growl.

Sloth held his ground, "Worker, tell your creature to back down or I will deactivate it myself.''

Worker508 laughed softly, "You can't do that, sir. I made him so he can't be deactivated."

Sloth pulled a small laser gun from his cloak, "Then I'll destroy it." He fired a single shot at the Ixi's head.

Phinckao stood still as the short laser beam came in contact with the blue front metal of his robotic head. The laser hadn't even left a mark.

The Ixi's eyes glinted furiously, "I would prefer if you didn't refer to me as an 'it'. I am Phinckao the male Ixi." His small tail flicked angrily and his front hooves stamped at the floor with several loud clanks.

Sloth snorted with amusement, "Indestructible, too? You would do well with my troops. But it seems I will have to make more robots that ACT like robots and not those sickening pets." He said distastefully.

Worker508's eyes barely caught the movement of Sloth's hand as it wandered over to a small red button on the far wall of the room. He just remembered what the button did a moment too late.

The button would open the wall behind Phinckao and he would be thrown into space by its pull. The poor robotic Ixi would probably fall straight to Neopia, judging by where the space station was at this time of day.

NO!" Worker508 yelled as the wall behind Phinckao slid to the side for only a few moments. It was long enough for the Ixi to give a surprised screeching sound before falling backwards through the door panel and into space.

Sloth pressed the button again, hurriedly closing the door.

Worker508 could only stare in shock at where his creation had been a moment before. He hadn't even known Phinckao long enough to become the Ixi's friend...

***

Phinckao gave a small grunt as he heaved his surprisingly light-weight body to its hooves. He shook himself again and looked around in confusion. A few moments ago, he had been hurtling through the darkness of space. He remembered falling through some lighter air and some heat had come in contact with his sensory plates just under the metal shell of his body.

His red eyes flickered brighter so he could get a better look at everything. He had landed right next to some sort of oddly shaped thing... His mind had instantly begun searching its database. He was next to a large tree. Not just any tree, though, as his database informed him. The Money Tree of Neopia.

Phinckao bounced on his hooves gleefully, ignoring the irregular thudding sound they made against the hard packed dirt by the tree. For some reason, this tree made him excited. His spurt of happiness was broken, though, when he heard a soft sound behind him.

The Ixi whirled around, quickly scanning the creature two times as large as himself that was stalking over mischievously. Target analyzed: spotted Kougra. Threat: unable to decide; possibly.

The Kougra was staring at him for a few moments through narrowed, brown eyes. Its tail twitched behind it as if it was deciding whether or not to attack. It finally straightened out of the stalking pose and drew a single black paw over one of its ears, pausing with the paw over its eyes.

Pardon my asking, but...did you just fall from the sky?" The Kougra didn't seem freaked out; just like it needed to make sure what it had seen was right.

Phinckao hesitated. Could he trust this Kougra? It didn't look like it wanted to attack him, "Yes. I did. Why?"

The Kougra smiled and nodded to itself, "Ah, nothing. Just wondering, man. So, who are you and why exactly did you fall from the sky?" It was still peering curiously at Phinckao from where it sat a few yards away.

My name is Phinckao. I fell because I defended my Creator," the Ixi's tone seemed to crack just slighty. As he recalled the incident, he grew sad. He hadn't known the creator for very long, but for some reason, he had grown attached to the orange Grundo that called himself Worker508.

Oh. Well, I'm Oaktail. Er, sorry to hear about your situation and all," he paused, claws unsheathing into the ground as he thought for a moment or two, "Do you have a place to stay? Like, are you on your own?''

Phinckao's head tilted to the side slightly, "On my...own?" He repeated. The question ran through his mind and a few gears clicked as it computed, "Yes. I am on my own now," he said as he scuffed his blue painted hooves across the dirt.

Oaktail jumped to his paws, whole body seemingly more energized, "Oh! Awesome idea! Do you wanna come to my Neohome? You seem like the kind of guy my family would want to meet!''

Phinckao's confusion was once again sparked. Family? What was family? His database could only tell him that it was a group of people close to you that cared for you and supported you. He nodded, though.

The Kougra was grinning, now. He raced off, "C'mon!" He yowled over his shoulder.

Phinckao didn't hesitate this time and sped after the Kougra, metal joints moving in the running motion smoothly. Family. Family.

About Phinckao
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

Alright, well, this page was originally an application for Phinckao, but I edited it so it's his official petpage. Phinckao was adopted from Neopound.com, so feel free to check it out if you're looking for your dream pet. ^_^ Phinckao's foster owner was Bizarre (rainbow_angel_) and she liked my application enough to allow me to be Phinckao's new owner! =D Thanks, Bizarre.
Phin is settling in to his new family well and Oaktail is helping him adjust to everything. Phin doesn't seem to mind how odd his new family is, which is fine with me. XD He's, I guess, what you would call the baby of the family. Because he's new to Neopia, he's still learning about everything, but he catches on and learns quickly.

Pancake
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

When I first saw Phinckao on Neopound, I thought his name was Pancake, due to being tired. While applying and thinking of a petpet, I came to the decision of a Griefer because they match. While thinking of a name, I instantly chose Pancake because it's an adorable name! ^_^ Pancake and Phinckao are pals and Pancake is teaching Phinckao basic responsibility. Wherever Phinckao goes, Pancake is sure to follow. They get along great and are like two peas in a pod! =D

Roleplay Example
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

(This is between Phinckao and my Lupe on my side account, Zaraxtaly.)
Zar looked around when he heard the clanking of metal. His blue eyes stole a glance at a dark green figure that was making its way over to him. Zar blinked the sun that reflected from the metal pet's body from his eyes. Syn had told him that her friend had wanted him to meet her new pet, but he hadn't really wanted to go. He inwardly groaned, but jumped to his white paws and smiled warmly at the robotic Ixi, "Heya!" He greeted.

The Ixi was slightly startled and flinched, but made his way over to Zar timidly, "Um, hello. I'm Phinckao. Are you Zar?" He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly. Target analyzed: shadow Lupe. Threat: no.

The dark-furred Lupe nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, I am. Nice to meet you, Phinckao. Syn gave me some Neopoints for a small amount of shopping. Where would you like to go first?" Zar tried to keep the smile on his face. Maybe this would work out. He had heard that the Ixi wasn't too social, but maybe he could work around that.

Phinckao's metallic green shoulders rose in a slight shrug, "I guess we could go to the toy shop first. I like the toy shop," a happier tone seemed to edge in his voice.

Zar nodded and trotted a few paces ahead, "Alright. To the toy shop it is! Let's get going!" Actually, this Ixi didn't seem all that bad. What had he been worried about?

Phinckao's roleplay is OPEN.

Meet the Family
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

Oaktail: Oaktail is the oldest of the family, but that doesn't mean he acts like it. He has a small attitude problem and has a big ego because he was my first pet. He can be a sarcastic jerk with pretty much anybody, but I try to keep him at least somewhat polite and kind. Even though he treats his two siblings like rivals, he says he's willing to make an exception with Phinckao. He understands that the Ixi isn't sure how to act with other pets just yet, so he's prepared to help Phinckao settle in with our crazy family!

Misty: Misty was actually my fourth pet that I created on this account. She was the lab pet for a while, but I stopped when she turned into a Halloween Uni. Then I found a Lupe Transmogrification Potion, so I used it on her. She's the more mature of my three pets and tries to be as kind and helpful as she can. Some people mistake her kindness for her being an easily shoved aside pet that won't stand up for herself. Wrong. Misty is incredibly protective of her family and she doesn't let herself or her siblings get pushed around.

Verdeuna: His name being derived from an ongoing joke I have with one of my friends, Verdeuna has a good sense of humor. He tries to meddle in other people's affairs as little as he can, but he can't help but get interested when someone is feeling down. He always seems to know exactly what to say to lighten the mood. He's the lab pet, yes, but he's the kind of pet that just wants to have a good time, so he doesn't let that get him down. Though I can't ignore the fact that he never seems too happy when the lab changes his gender. ^^;
