Welcome to Uso, an anime icon page. I'm Malisha and this is where icons of most of the anime shows I've watched for use. There are Neo icons on this page, but the bulk of it will be from anime. Please enjoy your time here and thank you for visiting!
What is anime? In simple terms, anime is Japanese animation that is aimed for all intelligent life for all ages. There are thousands of different genres and sub-genres of anime, and many more that cross genres. Anything you can name, there should be an anime for it.
The word uso is a Japanese word for lie. Depending on the context, it could also mean different things like, you're kidding, no way, etc. - all phrases that pertain to lying. A liar is uso-tsuki. You hear this a lot in anime and it's one of the few words I picked up quickly from watching. Keep an ear out for it!
1. None of these images belong to me nor to you. Please give credit where it's due.
2. Do not rehost these icons and/or claim them as yours. Theft will be reported.
3. Linking back is not necessary but appreciated. I am only manipulating images and textures and it isn't anything to own, but letting others view these would be great.
4. Constructive criticism is very much appreciated. Telling me bluntly an icon looks like trash is being rude. Please don't break my spirit any further than necessary.

I am by no means an expert, but if you would like to start watching anime on your own and need some guidance, here are some words of wisdom from an avid watcher.
Here are the Neopet icons. They're mostly scenery, however, but enjoy them all the same!
shounen/seinen - male audience. Shounen is typically for younger males whereas seinen is for older males.
shoujo/jousei - female audience. Shoujo is typically for younger females whereas jousei is for older females.
slice of life - the broad definition is every day life. There is usually no plot and usually features a protagonist's journey through overcoming any obstacles in their way.
supernatural - phenomenon that doesn't happen in real life but exists in the world the series take place.
As mentioned in the introduction, anime is for all intelligent life. Whatever plot you can imagine, there is most likely an anime about it. However, how does one pick an anime to watch as their first? This is where your own preferences come into play. Do you like shounen or shoujo? Are you interested in something light-hearted and funny or something serious and thought-provoking? How many episodes are you looking for - 2 cours (22-25), 1 cour (11-13), or more (25+)? As I cannot ultimately write this guide to cater to your needs, I'll suggest series that you may look up and go from there.
